Governor Okorocha risked been sacked for Gross Incompetence


Governor Rochas Okorocha is set to be axed as the leader of the APC governors following a lack of satisfaction in his performance overtime.

State governors elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) want to remove Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha as chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and replace him with a second term governor from the South West, a source very close to one of them told Daily Trust on Sunday in Abuja at the weekend.

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has inaugurated a five-man judicial commission of enquiry into the crisis that erupted between the Yoruba and Hausa in Ile-Ife on March 8 in which lives were lost and property destroyed.

A  media aide to the governor,  Mr Semiu Okanlawon, made this known in a statement in  Osogbo on Monday.

Bloody Gang war leaves 3 death in Mushin area of Lagos State


Pandemonium at Alamutu and Akala in Mushin area of Lagos State as three persons were found dead and many shops looted as rival hoodlums clashed. Scores of the hoodlums and residents were also reportedly injured in the clash, which lasted for more than five hours before police restored normalcy.

Heavy gunshots reportedly pervaded the entire Akala area between late Sunday and early Monday as hoodlums from Akala engaged their counterparts from Alamutu.

President Buhari approves establishment of operational base for Navy in Lake Chad area


President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of an operational base for the Nigerian Navy in the Lake Chad area to enhance security along the Basin.

The Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, made this known in Abuja on Monday after briefing President Muhammadu Buhari on activities of the Navy within and outside Nigeria.

According to Ibas, the Lake Chad area is a strategic location that provides means of livelihood to hundreds of thousands of people and the presence of the Nigerian Navy will help in consolidating on the security of the area.

Oh dear! Hackers install child porn on president’s computer


Hackers on Monday installed child pornography onto the computer of Czech President, Milos Zeman, the Pravo newspaper reported.
“I turned on my computer and looked in disbelief for about 10 seconds at what was happening, before I realized that it was a hacker attack,” Zeman said in an interview.
IT specialists from the president’s office have traced the attack back to the US state of Alabama, the president said.

Customs task force impounds 13 vehicles belonging to a senator


The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Compliance Task Force, says it has impounded 223 vehicles 13 of which belong to a senator in Kano state.

The task force also said that it seized other items, including foodstuff worth N269.5 million in Kano and Jigawa states within eight months.

The Benue Prisons Service on Monday confirmed that herdsmen invaded its Jato-Aka Farm Centre and killed an inmate, one Tersoo Agidi.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday was conspicuously absent at the 2017 Nigerian Army Small Arms Championship (NASAC) holding in Sambisa forest.

The President was however represented by the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali.
