Fani-Kayode says continuous detention of Dasuki, Kanu is barbaric and inhuman


The Presidential campaign spokesperson, Femi Fani-Kayode, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release some high-profile detainees in the country, saying their detention was illegal and barbaric.

The former Aviation Minister, who took to his twitter handle, called on the President to release former National Security Adviser, NSA, Col Sambo Dasuki(rtd), leader of the Indigeous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Warimpa Dudafa and former FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed.

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has congratulated the Governor-elect of Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on his victory in last Saturday’s gubernatorial election, saying, “I am delighted to hear of your victory in Saturday’s election.”

CBN: Naira has lost 85% of its value in two years


The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has revealed that the nation’s currency has lost about 85 per cent of its value in the last two years, harping on the need for risks managers in banks to brace up to the risks facing the banking sector.

The Director, Banking and Payment System, CBN, Mrs. Tokunbo Martins, stated this at the weekend in a presentation made at a round-table discussion organised by the Risk Managers Association of Nigeria, RIMAN, in Lagos.

Toni Kroos insists he would not consider switching Real Madrid for Barcelona and has revealed he could retire at the end of his current contract.

NUJ supports review of N18,000 national minimum wage


The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Sunday backed agitation for urgent upward review of the N18, 000 national minimum wage.

The union’s stand was contained in an 11-point communiqué issued at the end of its quarterly National Executive Council meeting held in Owerri, Imo State.

The communiqué noted that the current minimum wage was too meagre to accommodate the daily needs of workers and urged the Federal Government to review it upward.
