Nollywood actress Toyin Aimakhu’s failed marriage to Adeniyi Johnson has been under speculation as fans wish for a reunion between them.

In a reaction to her fans clamouring for a reunion with Niyi, Toyin begged not to be pressured into taking another regrettable decision.

The crisis rocking the Youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership near­ly caused disaster yesterday, at the National Secretariat of the organisation, located at No. 7 Parks Avenue, GRA, Enugu, as the President General of Oha­naeze Ndigbo, Professor Enwo Igariwey; National secretary, Dr Joe Nwaorgu and some oth­ers, narrowly escaped being hit by stray bullet fired by a police officer.

Professor Igariwey and mem­bers of his executive had assem­bled at the secretariat for a NEC meeting that will discuss issues bordering on the crisis rocking the Mazi Christopher Isiguzo­ro-led Youth Wing of Ohanaeze, which obviously has broken into two factions.

Pastor found guilty for stabbing, strangling his ex-lover after she threatened to expose their affair


A Kenyan pastor was yesterday, Thursday, July 21, convicted of stabbing and strangling his former lover to death after she threatened to expose their affair. Paul Ng'ang'a of Well of Faith church in Kawagrare was found guilty by a High Court judge.

Doctor Joshua Corsa, who treated Orlando victims and posted a haunting photo of his crimson sneakers on Facebook alongside an emotional post, is still wearing the blood-stained sneakers six weeks after the Orlando massacre and says he will keep wearing them until the last patient leaves the hospital.

In June, 49 people were killed and dozens more wounded in the mass shooting at a gay club in Orlando and Dr. Joshua Corsa, a senior resident at Orlando Regional Medical Center, published a photo of his bloody sneakers and wrote;

As part of a road safety campaign in the Australian state of Victoria, Melbourne, sculptor Patricia Piccinini created a model of what a human body built to survive bad car accidents would look like.

The model named Graham features a huge chest, inflated head, extra nipples and absence of a neck. Piccinini drew from the knowledge of trauma surgeon Christian Kenfield and road safety engineer David Logan to build a body that could withstand a high-speed crash.

Graham's huge chest and extra nipples are meant to mimic air bags and protect his rib cage.

His lack of neck rules out broken bones and whiplash, while his flat, fatty face is designed to protect his nose and ears.

Updates on Munich Shooting: Six people confirms dead ...


Gunmen attacked a busy shopping mall in the German city of Munich on Friday evening, spraying bullets as people fled in horror for safety from what police said was a terrorist attack.

Police said six people had been killed and the attackers were still at large. They told the public to get off the streets as the city - Germany's third biggest - went into lockdown, with transport halted and highways sealed off.

As special forces rushed to the scene, some people remained holed up in the Olympia shopping centre.

Steve Hopwood, a PC with Avon and Somerset Constabulary and his dog, Monty, took on the #22Kill challenge, to do 22 push-ups as part of a viral challenge to raise awareness for veteran suicide. The challenge is in solidarity of the 22 US veterans on average who commit suicide every day.

A video of the pair was shared by Avon and Somerset Constabulary. The goal of the #22Kill challenge is to reach 22million push-ups.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Makurdi, Benue state today affirmed the decision of the state election petition tribunal to uphold the February 20th 2015 election of former Senate President, David Mark for the Benue South Senatorial district. APC candidate in the election, Daniel Onjeh, had petitioned the state election tribunal over Mark's victory at the polls.

These women rent out their babies to two women who beg for alms on a daily basis in the Oyingbo area of Lagos. The women will, in turn, pay the mothers between N1000 or N1,500 after the day's job. When interrogated, the mums said they do not know where the women take their babies to. They all blamed their action on poverty. All of them have been arrested by the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development Monitoring Team.

Nigeria Governors to attend vocational training in Germany


Six governors from the six geopolitical zones are planning a trip to Germany for vocational training. Chairman of the governors forum and governor of Zamfara state, Abdulaziz Yari, said this after a meeting with a representative of the German government at the Presidential Villa yesterday July 21st. According to him, the vocational programme is of interest to the states.
“We received some presentation from the German Ambassador, prior to our trip to Germany, for the vocational programme.” he said

Germany's Muencher Abendzeitung reported that up to 15 people were killed in a shooting in a shopping mall in the southern city of Munich.

TV images showed dozens of emergency vehicles outside the mall.

The shopping center is next to the Munich Olympic stadium, where the Palestinian militant group Black September took 11 Israeli athletes hostage and eventually killed them during the 1972 Olympic Games.

3,000 Migrant perished in Mediterranean already this year - IOM


Nearly 3,000 migrants and refugees have perished in the Mediterranean Sea already this year while almost 250,000 have reached Europe, the International Organization for Migration said on Friday.

The estimated death toll could put 2016 on track to be the deadliest year of the migration crisis. Last year the same landmark was only reached in October, by which time nearly one million people had crossed into Europe.

An Italian court has jailed three members of a Nigerian crime gang in Palermo, Sicily, sentencing them to at least a decade in prison each for crimes including attempted murder.

Prosecutors said the trio brought to Palermo the practices of the "Black Axe" cult, which Nigerian police said carried out ritual murders, mutilation and rape in the early 1990s.

Microsoft is ending support for Skype on Windows 8, older Android OS's


Microsoft, owners of Skype, has announced that it will be dropping support for Skype on Windows Phone 8 and older versions of Android.

The tech giant says it is making this move because it is changing the platform's focus from a P2P service to cloud-based services.

Chinese National Arrested For Smuggling Materials Used For Explosives In Ogun (PHOTO)


A Chinese national, Zhao Chum, and his Nigerian accomplice, Christian Ohia, have been arrested for allegedly smuggling into Nigeria, unregistered and controlled chemicals used for manufacturing explosives.

Chum, 33, who owns a furniture company in Ogun State, was apprehended by officials of the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC on Thursday.

The acting Director-General, DG, NAFDAC, Yetunde Oni, who confirmed this in a statement said, “NAFDAC impounded 880 bags x 25kg of Urea Formaldehyde Resin – a chemical compound for manufacturing explosives, which was imported by the Chinese man, Zhao Chum.

Nigerian Army Deploys Troops To Liberia for Peacekeeping


The Nigerian Army on Friday deployed another batch of 700 officers and soldiers to Liberia on a peacekeeping mission.

The troops received a 4-week special training in preparation for their induction into the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Liberia.

The troops had their passing out ceremony at the Nigerian Army Peacekeeping Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State, ahead of their departure to Liberia.

While addressing his men, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai, warned them to avoid any act capable of tarnishing the image of the nation.
