A source said: ''Chris and Rihanna just can't cut off communication with one another. She actually wished Chris a happy birthday when he turned 25 last year, so he was returning the favour by wishing her many happy returns on Friday.

Gandhi statue to be unveiled in London next month

A statue of Indian independence leader Mahatma Gandhi is to be unveiled opposite the Houses of Parliament in London next month, the British government announced Sunday.

The bronze statue will sit alongside figures such as World War II prime minister Winston Churchill and anti-apartheid hero Nelson Mandela in Parliament Square.

The announcement came as the level of public donations to fund the statue passed £1 million (1.3 million euros, $1.5 million).

"Mahatma Gandhi is an inspiration," said Prime Minister David Cameron in a statement confirming the move.

In 1835, her husband Adele returned to his throne but died two years later making her a widow for the second time. She then helped install Adele’s son, Oluwole as the new king and married his military advisor.

Barca Manager Luis Enrique says his Team deserved the defeat to Malaga

Manager Luis Enrique said the defeat was deserved after watching FC Barcelona crash to a shock 0-1 loss at home to Malaga here.

Grammy Award Winning Trumpet maestro Clark Terry dies aged 94

Reuters) - Clark Terry, a Grammy award-winning trumpet player and composer who recorded with greats such as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Quincy Jones, has died aged 94, his wife said on Sunday.

Terry, who had gone into hospice care after suffering from diabetes, "has joined the big band in heaven where he'll be singing and playing with the angels", Gwen Terry said on the musician's Facebook page.

"He left us peacefully, surrounded by his family, students and friends."

Suicide Bombing in Mogadishu Leaves 25 Dead and 40 Wounded

Atleast 25 people were killed and 40 more wounded in a pair of suicide bombings perpetrated yesterday in Mogadishu, Somalia, the New York Times reports. The attack was carried out by a rebel group, Al Shabab, who claimed to have targeted government officials gathered at a hotel for a prayer service.

"As soon as the prayers finished, a huge explosion happened," Salaad Ali Jelle, a former government minister told the Times. "Then another explosion followed at the entrance of the mosque. I jumped over several dead bodies, but I survived."

89 Boys as Young as 13 Reportedly Kidnapped in South Sudan

Armed soldiers abducted at least 89 boys, some as young as 13, from a community near Malakal in South Sudan, UNICEF said Saturday.

According to the organization, unidentified gunmen surrounded the town of Wau Shilluk and went from house to house searching for boys older than 12, presumably to be used as child soldiers.

The children were reportedly kidnapped while "doing their exams." UNICEF says the actual number of abductees could be much greater than 89.

The car is believed to have crossed oncoming traffic before ending in a ditch after a semi-truck passed their vehicle and snow flicked up and covered the windscreen, leaving Khloé unable to see where she was going.

Police attended the accident and everyone involved is said to be OK.

United Nations to FG: "Don’t postpone polls again"

United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon has urged the Federal Government to ensure that the new dates set for the general elections are maintained following the recent postponement.

The polls, originally scheduled for February 14, was rescheduled to March 28 and 11 April,2015 following appeals by the armed forces to delay the vote for six weeks within which to combat the Boko Haram terrorist threat.

In a statement on Friday, the Secretary-General welcomed commitments by the presidential candidates to respect the new calendar and commended the progress made by the Independent National Electoral Commission in the preparation for the elections, including the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards.

One of the World's tallest Residential Buildings in Dubai gutted by Fire

Report early today from LIB says the Dubai Marina Torch, an 86-storey building which stands (1,105 ft), was engulfed by fire in the early hours of today forcing a mass evacuation. The fire reportedly started around the 52nd floor then moved to the lower parts of the building. Thousands of residents were evacuated from the high-rise and it took more than a dozen fire trucks to extinguish the flames.

Authorities say there were no reports of deaths or injuries from the Marina Torch fire and the cause of the fire is not immediately clear.
