Terrorist Group kills 3, abducts 3 in Maiduguri


Corpses of two brothers and another person allegedly slaughtered by Boko Haram near Molai village were brought to Silimri ward of Maiduguri Wednesday evening.

According to local hunters led by Ahmadu Tukur, Boko Haram elements killed one of their colleagues same day, and abducted three other children about few kilometres from Molai village.

'Surrender now' - Nigerian Army to Boko Haram militants


The Nigerian Army on Wednesday asked remnant members of the Boko Haram sect to surrender, saying the “the game is up.”

The call came just as six members of the sect were neutralized in an ambush by troops of the 22 Brigade Dikwa under 7 Division of Operation Lafiya Dole in conjunction with some Civilian Joint Task Force.

Trump says new North Korea threats will be replied with fire and fury


President Donald Trump issued an apocalyptic warning to North Korea on Tuesday, saying it faces “fire and fury” over its missile program, hours after US media reported Pyongyang has successfully miniaturized a nuclear warhead.
“North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States,” said Trump, who was speaking from his golf club in New Jersey. “They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen.”

Kanu says Acting President Osinbajo's view on Biafra agitation faulty, misconceived


Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, on Wednesday, tackled the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, for declaring the Biafran agitation as unconstitutional.

Kanu, in a world press conference he held through his team of lawyers in Abuja, maintained that Osinbajo’s view about Biafra was “patently misconceived and inherently faulty”, despite his rank as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

In a statement signed by his lawyer, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu, insisted that “extra judicial remarks” Osinbajo made before the Igbo Council of Traditional Rulers, in reference to Biafran agitation, was offensive to section 2 of the 1999 constitution, as amended.

Governor Ambode: Reconstruction Of Oshodi/Int’l Airport Road Begins Next Month


Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Wednesday said that work on the proposed expansion and reconstruction of the Oshodi-International Airport Road would commence next month.

The Governor, who spoke at the Third Quarter Town Hall Meeting, the 8th in the series, held at the Badore Ferry Terminal, Lagos also disclosed that plans are already underway to commence the construction of 181 local government roads next month.

Anambra State: Four dead as explosion rocks community


At least, four persons were feared killed on Wednesday, at Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State when a cooking gas exploded.

Several persons sustained injuries in the incident.

Five church members remanded in Prison over the alleged murder of a member


Five members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, have been remanded in prison by Evbuoriaria Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Benin, Edo State, an over alleged murder of one of their members.

The accused persons; Godwin Ukrakpor (70), Uche Esegine (22), Taiwo Omogoroye (42), Austin Oni (39) and Meshak Owuh (28); who were arraigned on a two-count charge, allegedly committed the offence at about 5 am on 1 July 2017, at Sapele Road, Benin City, while returning from a vigil.

Reminisce: I regret not being a graduate


Rapper, Remilekun Abdulkalid Safaru, aka Reminisce, has achieved quite a lot with his music career. He has a huge following and he is also a brand ambassador for some reputable companies.

However, the Kako bi Chicken crooner is not entirely happy; he wishes he was a graduate. Speaking to Sunday Scoop about the music industry, he said, “For anybody who wants to make a career out of music, you have to be sure that you are skilled and that it’s something that you can do sustainably; if not, go to school. Either ways, it is important to go to school, whether you go into full-time music or not. I actually regret not being a graduate.”

President Trump’s chief of staff Reince Priebus resigns


President Donald Trump said Friday that he had replaced his chief of staff Reince Priebus with Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly.

Trump, who announced the move on Twitter, did not say whether he had fired Priebus or whether Priebus had resigned, but the former Republican National Committee chairman said he tendered his resignation to the president on Thursday.

Militants Surrender Firearms to Police


Three suspected militants have surrendered their firearms to the police in Nasarawa State. The submission follows the expiration of the 30-day ultimatum handed down by the state government.

The arms recovered from the suspects include three FMC rifles, and one AK47 rifle with 64 rounds of live ammunition.
