Men of the Nigerian Police have arrested a notorious Boko Haram commander who escaped from Sambisa forest.

A fleeing Boko Haram deputy commander, Seth Yakubu has been arrested at Gwako Village in Gwagwalada area of the Federal Capital Territory.

Yakubu who is 20-year-old insurgent hailed from Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, was nabbed at about 11.30am on Sunday after a tip-off, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo, told journalists on Monday in Abuja.

A Nobel Laureate, Prof. Francoise Barre-Sinoussi, says efforts are ongoing to develop a universal cure for HIV and cancer through collaboration.

Barre-Sinoussi, a co-discoverer of the HIV, said this in Paris while conducting some select journalists on a tour of the sophisticated laboratories at Institut Pasteur. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Barre-Sinoussi and Luc Montagnier co-discovered the HIV in 1983. Nigerian Army Kills Three Female Suicide Bombers in Borno

The Nigerian Army on Sunday said it had foiled a bomb attack and killed three female suicide bombers in Konduga Local Government Council of Borno, NAN reports.

The Director Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Sani Usman, in a statement on Saturday night, said the incident occurred at Kawuri village.

Usman said that the female suicide bombers were killed when they tried to attack a military formation in the area.
