Jim Vance, Veteran NBC Anchor, Dead at 75

A veteran Washington reporter for NBC 4, Jim Vance died on Friday at the age of 75.

Vance — who anchored the news desk for more than 45 years — recently revealed to his colleagues and viewers in May that he was battling cancer, but not did not reveal what type of cancer. He died on Saturday, the network confirmed.

Nigerian Army Kills Three Female Suicide Bombers in Borno

The Nigerian Army on Sunday said it had foiled a bomb attack and killed three female suicide bombers in Konduga Local Government Council of Borno, NAN reports.

The Director Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Sani Usman, in a statement on Saturday night, said the incident occurred at Kawuri village.

Usman said that the female suicide bombers were killed when they tried to attack a military formation in the area.

Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo has instructed law enforcement officers to shoot and kill drug traffickers to deal with a narcotics emergency facing the country.

“Be firm, especially to foreign drug dealers who enter the country and resist arrest. Shoot them because we indeed are in a narcotics emergency position now,” Widodo said in a speech delivered at an event held by one of Indonesia’s political parties late on Friday.

The Chairman of Ocean Marine Security Limited, an off-shore asset protection company, Capt. Hosa Okunbor, has denied media reports that he was involved in the controversial offshore processing agreements, OPAs, known as oil swap, involving former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke and others.
