Rochas Okorocha says ‘PDP Is Not A Threat To APC’


Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was not a threat to his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Mr. Okorocha, who is also APC Governors Forum Chairman, spoke on Thursday after he led his colleagues to a meeting with Acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, has declared the future of Nigeria’s economy lies in the growth of small and medium scale businesses and has promised the continuous support of government to ensure this becomes a reality.

According to a release by Laolu Akande, the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity), Osinbajo made this assertion at the launch of the MSMEs clinic in the Nation’s capital at the eagle square on Thursday.

Dreaded Badoo strikes at Ojodu Berger, kills lovers

Suspected members of the Badoo cult early Friday morning killed two lovers in their apartment in Ogun State, according to Punch newspaper.

A source said that the heads of the victims were smashed. The incident happened at a storey building located on Hassan Abiodun Street, off Ojodu Berger, in Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

Many of the residents could not be consoled as policemen from Ojodu Abiodun Division took away the remains of the deceased for onward transfer to the General Hospital Sagamu.

Senate approves five-year jail, N10 million fine for false whistle-blowing


The Senate on Wednesday passed the Whistle Blowers Protection Bill, which recommends a five-year jail term or N10m fine against persons who raise false alarm on hidden loot.

The upper chamber of the National Assembly also approved that five per cent of loot recovered as a result of information from a whistle blower be given to the informant, as currently practiced by the Federal Government.

Three Policemen Face Prosecution After Chaining Suspect To Generator


Three policemen who were reported to have suffered a suspect to harsh treatment have now received the repercussions of their deeds as they face trials.

The policemen from Bariga Division in Lagos arrested a man suspected to be a thief for having two Automated Teller Machine (ATM) Cards in his possession. As reported the young man was suspected to unfair punishment and even chained to the generator at the station.
