Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has guaranteed the peace and safety of all non-indigenes, especially the Hausa and Fulanis living in the state.

Speaking through his special adviser on non-indigenes affairs, Musa Maigoro, Ayade said his government has met with all the stakeholders of the northern community to assure them of their safety and that they should go about their legitimate business as they are very free to live in any parts of the state.

According to a report by Associated Press, Pope Francis met June 8 at the Vatican with a delegation from the Ahiara diocese, southeast Nigeria where priests have been refusing to accept the 2012 appointment by the then pontiff, Benedict XVI, of the local bishop.

Imo bank robbery: NBA to sue Police, Zenith Bank for abandoning victim’s family

The Owerri branch of Nigerian Bar Association on Monday said that it would sue the Nigeria Police Force and Zenith Bank for allegedly abandoning the family of heroic Police Sergeant, Chukwudi Iboko, who died during the February 22, 2017, robbery which took place at the Wetheral Road branch of Zenith bank in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

Sergeant Iboko, who killed one of the four armed robbers in the attack, suffered severe gunshot injuries and died the next day in a police clinic in Owerri after he was allegedly rejected at the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri.

Buhari commend El-Rufai for ordering arrest of those asking Igbos to vacate North


President Muhammadu Buhari has commended the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai for ordering the arrest of leaders of the Coalition of Northern Youths, CNY, for asking Igbos to vacate the North in three months.

Buhari’s commendation was disclosed by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed on Wednesday.

The Minister, who took to his Twitter handle, @MohammedLai wrote:
