NDLEA apprehends 138 suspected drug dealers


The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended 138 persons for alleged drug trafficking and seized 1.399 metric tons of drugs.

The drugs were seized at Ikeja, Oshodi, Mushin, Lagos Island, Ikorodu and other parts of Lagos State between January and last month.

14-year-old girl battling for life after 13-year-old boy bathed her with acid on her birthday


A 14-year-old girl is currently battling for her life after being bathed with acid by a friend on her birthday.

The incident occurred on March 29, around the night market in Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos Mainland, where Victoria Emmanuel was celebrating her birthday.

While her peers were pouring water on her body, a 13-year-old boy, Moshood Yusuf, allegedly entered a shop, picked up a bottle and emptied its content on Victoria.

An Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti has barred a pastor, Victor Ekejiuba, from his matrimonial home for one year to save his wife, Caroline, from “unending battering and physical assaults”.

The court restrained Ekejiuba from having access to his wife’s assets. He was also ordered to maintain peace during the period.

PDP crisis: Sheriff walks out on Jonathan, governors during peace meeting


Efforts to find a political solution to the festering leadership crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday suffered a major setback.

Court-backed National Chairman  Ali Modu Sheriff stormed out of a peace meeting convened by former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Five Nigerian women have been identified to be part of the recently released abducted sex slaves by ISIS in Libya.

According to Reuters, out of the 35 women captured in Sirte, Libya, 5 Nigerian women were discovered to be part of the women captured and turned into sex slaves for months by ISIS. The 5 Nigerians, 2 children, and 28 Eritreans were rescued by Libyan forces last December but made to face detention in a Misrata prison.

SHOCKING! Senior Naval officer commits suicide in Lagos


The Fleet Commander, Western Naval Command, Apapa, Lagos State, Rear Admiral Daniel Ikoli, has allegedly shot himself dead in his residence in the Apapa area.

It was learnt that a service pistol, expended and live ammunition, were recovered at the scene by police detectives who visited the residence.

It was gathered that he lived with his houseboy. His wife stays in Abuja, while his children are schooling abroad.

A Malaysian member of parliament, Tasek Gelugor, has said that girls as young as 9 are “physically and spiritually” ready for marriage.

Gelugor, a member of the Barisan Nasional coalition, made the comments in response to a proposal by an opposition member of parliament to amend the S*xual Offences Against Children bill to include a ban on child marriages.
