CBN introduces financial education curriculum for primary, secondary schools

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has developed and introduced a Financial Education Curriculum for basic and senior secondary schools, to educate children on how to use financial services responsibly.

The Head of Consumer Education, CBN, Mrs Khadijah Kasim, said this on Monday in Abuja after a road walk with school children within Nyanya, Karu, Orozo and Jikwoyi in commemoration of the Global Money Week.

Muhammad Sirajo Musa who lost his penis in an accident while on his way to the prayer ground, during the  2009 Eid-el-Fitr celebration, has welcomed a daughter with his wife after undergoing a penis transplant in an Egyptian hospital.

Musa whose new penis was moulded from extracted muscles from his thigh and arm, as first treated at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria before he was referred to the Egyptian hospital.

Bomb Scare: Bag left at American Embassy not bomb – Nigerian Police

Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose cautions police over handling of Ile-Ife crisis

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has cautioned the police over the handling of investigation on the recent crisis in Ile-Ife, Osun State that led to the death of more than 40 people.

He accused the police of displaying ethnic bias in its investigation and this is not good for the unity of Nigeria and its people.

The governor, who condemned the killing of innocent people and destruction of properties in Ile-Ife, said crime must be treated as crime; “whether committed by Yoruba, Ibo, Hausa or any tribe. However, handling of crime must be without ethnic bias.”
