DRAMA! Senate Rejects Magu As Efcc Boss for the Second time

 

The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on Wednesday, refused to confirm Mr. Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

President Muhammadu Buhari had late last year submitted the name of Mr. Magu to the Senate, for confirmation as substantive Chairman of EFCC, having served in acting capacity since November, 2015.

The Senate however, turned down his confirmation, citing security reports as reason why it would not go ahead to confirm Magu.

The acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has questioned the integrity of the Department of State Security (DSS), who wrote a report that Magu is unfit’ to head the anti-graft agency.

Magu says two reports were submitted in one day about him and that questions the integrity of the DSS as well.

Man breaks into mosque, rip off copies of Quran

A man broke into an Arizona mosque earlier this week and desecrated copies of the Quran, the Islamic Center of Tucson said Tuesday.

The suspect entered the mosque on Monday around 3:30 a.m. and ripped copies of the Quran before throwing them on the floor, according to a post on the center's Facebook page.
