Federal Court Declares Free Compulsory Primary And Junior Secondary Education


A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has declared that every Nigerian child has the constitutional right to free and compulsory primary education, and free junior secondary education.

The court, presided over by Justice John Tsoho, also declared that the federal and state governments have constitutional duties to provide adequate funds for it.

The court held that failure by any government to fund free primary and junior secondary education will constitute a breach of the constitution.

The Commissioner of Police, Kwara  State Command, Mr. Olusola Amore, says intelligence available to his command indicates that internet fraudsters have developed a new method which they now use in scamming Nigerians.

Amore in a statement by the command’s  Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, on Friday stated that the fraudsters’ earlier scam of sending out text messages to people claiming that their Bank Verification Number had been deactivated was no longer effective, hence their new strategy.

Obasanjo: People told me I will be Nigeria’s last President


Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed that he was told that he will be the last president of the country.

He stated this in a recent interview with journalists in his Hilltop home in Abeokuta. Obasanjo also said the problem with Nigeria was leadership, but insisted there had been progress made since 1999.

Nigerian Air Force graduates 30 Super Mushshak instructor pilots (Photos)


The Nigerian Air Force has graduated not fewer than 30 instructor pilots for its Super Mushshak training airplanes.

The force revealed this in a statement on Friday, March 3 and also released several pictures of the young pilots that are now qualified to use the globally applauded aircraft to train Nigerian jet pilots for their various missions against insurgents and other security threats.

The Air Force says the development will on the short term boost the military outfit’s capabilities.
