Nigerian Senate on Wednesday confirmed Justice Walter Onnoghen as the Chief Justice of Nigeria. This is following the retirement of Justice Mahmud Mohammed at the attainment of the mandatory 70 years’ retirement age.
Onnoghen is remarkably the first southerner to be CJN since 1987 when Ayo Irikefe retired.
