VIDEO: Edo state Police Chief warns police officers to deviate from harassing cyber users


The Edo state commissioner of police says he will not tolerate any act of police harassing cyber users in the state. 

The police commissioner stated this during an interview session. He urged the general public to report the conduct of any policeman who specializes into climbing on those whose with cell phones, computers or anything under the guise of trying to frame them as "Yahoo Yahoo", coining them cultist or coining them as armed robbers but the men intention is to extort them.

Group of armed herdsmen that arrived  Isselegu in Ndokwa East Local Government Area in Delta State, were yesterday Wednesday 22nd, intercepted by the Vigilante group of Anioma Security Watch Network. 

According to a post shared on the Aniocha South Local government's facebook page, the men who arrived the state on a truck carrying some cows from Taraba state had in their possession.

At least 74 bodies of African migrants have washed ashore on the coast of Libya. According to the Libyan Red Crescent, the bodies were found near the western Libyan city of Zawiya on Monday. Speaking to Associated Press, Red Crescent spokesman Mohammed al-Misrati, said he feared more dead bodies might surface as there are more bodies floating out at sea, but they do not have a means to retrieve them.

Daredevil armed robbery group on Wednesday robbed a Zenith bank branch opposite Dan Anyiam stadium in Owerri in broad daylight, and officers of Nigerian Police shot one of them dead.

No fewer than three people were killed and several others wounded including a police officer after the robbery incident.

WAEC Releases Timetable For May/June 2017 Examinations (See Full Schedules)


The timetable for all West African students sitting for the West African Examination Council examination has been revealed.

The timetable for the West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations for May/June 2017 has been released. According to the timetable, the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is scheduled to start by Thursday 20 of February 2017 and ends on the Monday 15th May 2017.

Rice sellers in Sango Market, in Ado Odo/Ota area of Ogun State yesterday blocked the Temidire end of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway for over seven hours.

The traders were protesting against the alleged invasion of customs officials from the Federal Operation Unit (FOU) of the Nigeria Customs Service, Ikeja, who allegedly broke several shops in the market around 12am, in the dead of the night.

The officers, accompanied by soldiers attached to OP MESSA, were said to have impounded about 4,550 bags of rice and 75 jerrycans of vegetable oil, estimated at millions of naira.

A young soldier, Sulaiman Olamilekan, who molested and beat a lady, Ebere Ohakwe, blue-black for 'talking about him' at a military checkpoint in Port Harcourt on Monday, January 31 has been sent to jail.

Nigerian Army confirmed some days ago that the soldier accused of assault is being interrogated. But now, it has come up with a punishment for the young soldier. According to the latest post on the social media account of the Nigerian Army, the young soldier has been sentenced to 28 days imprisonment with hard labour and his salary will be forfeited for those days.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has recovered seventeen exotic vehicles in a warehouse of the former Comptroller General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko Inde located at Nnamdi Azikwe Street, Kaduna.

The recovery was sequel to an intelligence the commission received that stolen money and properties suspected to proceeds of crime were being stored in the warehouse. Upon receipt of the intelligence, a team of operatives from the Kano Zonal Office were deployed to carry out the investigation.

A woman who recently had a baby was among victims attacked by Fulani herdsmen on Jama'a and Kaura Local Government Areas in Southern Kaduna. Fortunately, her child survived the awful incident. Twenty-two people were killed in the fresh attacks on four communities between Sunday and Monday. Several houses were also burnt during the attacks.

Federal Court freezes 21 accounts linked to Stella Oduah


A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos prohibited Senator Stella Oduah and Sea Petroleum and Gas Company Limited from making any withdrawals from their accounts and those of three other companies domiciled with 21 commercial banks.

The court order was sequel to a suit over an alleged indebtedness of the defendants in the sum of about $16.4 million and N100.5 million to Sterling Bank Plc.
