Nigerian Man offers 50k reward for information on his friend who sold his car he lent him


Twitter user, @TheZenMonster, has offered a 50k reward for information leading to the arrest of his friend, who he alleged stole a car he lent him at Yaba, Surulere area of Lagos.

Narrating how it all happened, he said he has 2 cars, and allowed his friend to drive the said vehicle only to receive a funny text message from him minutes later.

Details of Phone Conversation Between Donald Trump And Buhari


President Buhari this afternoon from London spoke to US President Donald Trump on telephone at the request of the American President. According to a statement released by the Senior Special Assistant to Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the conversation was cordial and Pres. Buhari congratulated Trump on his election as President of the United States, and on his cabinet.

Nigeria’s Youngest Referee Set To Officiate Champions League Match


Confederation of African Football, CAF, has appointed Nigeria’s youngest referee Quadri Adebimpe to officiate in the CAF continental club competitions.

The 24-year old Adebimpe will oversee the CAF Champions League Second Leg game between AS FAN of Niger Republic and AS de Tanda of Ivory Coast in Niamey next week Saturday.

Adebimpe who is a FIFA-badged referee will be assisted by Samuel, Isah Usman and Abubakar Ago for the Champions League tie.

Court adjourns N8.5 billion fraud trial of ex-NIMASA boss, ex-JTF commander


A Federal High Court in Lagos has fixed Friday for continuation of trial of Emmanuel Atewe and three others, facing charges of N8.5 billion fraud.

Mr. Atewe, a major general and former Commander of the Niger-Delta Military Joint Task Force, is charged alongside Patrick Akpobolokemi, a former Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA.

SHOCKING! NNPC staff allegedly forged Buhari’s signature to sell $19m crude in China


A member of the House of Representatives, Mr Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, has alleged that certain politicians in connivance with some staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) forged President Muhammadu Buhari’s signature in order to illegally sell crude oil from Nigeria worth $19 million in China. He made the disclosure on Sunrise Daily, a live television programme on Channels Television.

Rep Agbonayinma, who chairs the House ad-hoc committee on the sale of crude oil to foreign destinations, added that the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, was aware of the forged letter and that investigations were ongoing to prosecute the culprits.

Koeman would deserve Barcelona job - De Boer


Ronald Koeman would deserve it if Barcelona come calling for his services, according to Frank de Boer.

The Everton manager, who has had spells as a player and assistant manager at Camp Nou, has regularly been linked to Barca, with Luis Enrique's contract due to expire at the end of the season.

De Boer knows Koeman well having featured with him for Netherlands and played for the club while Koeman was number two to Louis van Gaal.

Koeman again insisted last week there was "nothing" in the latest round of speculation, which had been started by his former agent and De Boer's current representative Guido Albers, who claimed the former Southampton boss was on Barca's shortlist.

Buhari’s Special Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmaad, wrote on Twitter: “President @MBuhari will speak to @POTUS, @realDonaldTrump today at 3:45 pm (Nigerian Time) from his London residence.”
“The Presidency confirms a request from the White House for a telecon between President Zuma and President Trump this afternoon, 13/2/17,” the South African presidency also wrote on their official Twitter page.

Apo Six: Again, Court Adjourns Case To March 9


An FCT high court sitting in Maitama, Abuja has again adjourned judgment in the trial of the six police officers accused of killing six Igbo auto-spare part dealers in 2005 to March 9.

The judgement which was set to be delivered today, 13th of February after 11 years by the Chief Judge of FCT High Court, Justice Ishaq Bello, was adjourned because the court did not sit.

The protracted trial has been hindered mostly due to institutional challenges ranging from series of adjournments, conveyance of defendants from the prison to court and difficulty in getting witnesses to testify.

Minister of Power says he’ll resist payment when there’s no electricity


The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, has said he will, like other consumers, be more resistant to payment of electricity bill if there is no supply.

Fashola said this on Monday at the 12th Monthly Power Sector and Stakeholders’ Meeting in Ibadan hosted by Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company.

Power generation in the country has worsened in recent weeks after hitting the 4,000 megawatts mark in December last year, with many consumers without prepaid meters complaining about over-estimated bills despite the dip in supply.
