Rising street pop artiste Small Doctor has been slammed and shown the exit door by his music label CEO, DJ Real who feels betrayed after turning the singer from an okada rider to a star only to get disrespected.

According to an open letter DJ Real shared on his Instagram page, problem started when small Doctor began experiencing mainstream acceptance and recognition and started ignoring his management “Real Beat Planet” who nurtured his career.

Small Doctor reportedly started performing shows without informing DJ Real or getting approval from the “Real Beat Planet” management and all efforts to correct this abnormally fell on deaf ears.

In a list which also has Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha and Jimmy Bullard, Hangland revealed that Berbatov always spent more time getting massages than training.

Ghana’s only crude oil refinery shut after explosion

Tema Oil Refinery, Ghana’s only oil refinery, has been shut after an explosion at a newly installed €5.8-million crude oil heating unit, a senior union official told Reuters on Friday.

The blast at the crude distillation unit, which recorded no casualties, is the latest problem to hit the refinery, which has for decades performed below its capacity of 45,000 barrels per day.

“It was a damper failure. It failed to open to allow heat to escape through the chimney and that led to the explosion,” one source said.

Junaid Mohammed: Whoever says Boko Haram is dead is telling lies

Anyone who says Boko Haram has been defeated is “telling lies”, Junaid Mohammed, a former supporter-turned-fierce critic of President Muhammadu Buhari, has said.

President Buhari had in December 2016 declared that the stronghold of Boko Haram in Sambisa forest had fallen and the insurgents crushed.

“I want to use this opportunity to commend the determination, courage and resilience of troops of Operation Lafiya Dole at finally entering and crushing the remnants of the Boko Haram insurgents at ‘Camp Zero’, which is located deep within the heart of Sambisa forest,” Buhari had said.

Health Minister: Why Nigeria still battles with leprosy

The Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole, has attributed the prevalence of leprosy in Nigeria, after the country achieved the WHO elimination target in 1998, to pockets of high endemicity in some states.

Mr. Adewole made the remark at a news conference in Umuahia to commemorate the 64th anniversary of the World Leprosy Day Celebration on Friday with the theme: “Zero disability among children affected by leprosy”.

According to him, of 2,892 leprosy cases reported in 2015, nine per cent was made up of children, while victims with “grade II disability” accounted for 15 percent.

Google Bans 200 Publishers As A Measure To Stop Spread Of Fake News

Google kicked 200 publishers off one of its ad networks in the fourth quarter, partly in response to the proliferation of fake news sites.

The company banned the publishers from its AdSense network, an ad placement service that automatically serves text and display ads on participating sites based on its audience. The ban was part of an update to an existing policy that prohibits sites that mislead users with their content. 

Google regularly weeds out advertisers for false or misleading claims, but impersonating news sites became an addition following the rapid rise of fake news, or propaganda sites. After the election, Google was blasted for placing a false story from a fake news site claiming Donald Trump had won the popular vote. (He had 2.8 million fewer votes than Hillary Clinton.)

President Trump To Cut Off Funding To United Nations Agencies

A draft executive order from the Trump administration orders government to stop funding any United Nations(UN) agency that promotes “the performance of abortion or sterilisation as a method of family planning.” 

It’s one of a number of prohibitions in the order that sets up a process for reviewing all American contributions to the UN and automatically eliminating many others.

Also on the chopping block is “any United Nations affiliate or other international organisation that grants full membership to the Palestinian Authority or the Palestinian Liberation Organisation”; any organisation “substantially influenced by any state that sponsors terrorism”; and any group circumventing sanctions against North Korea or Iran.
