34 Student Bags 1st Class As Federal University Of Technology Minna Graduates 3,734 Students


The Federal University of Technology, Minna has produced 34 First Class and 35 PhD graduates out of 3,734 graduating students in the 2015/2016 session. This was disclosed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Musbau Adewumi Akanji while briefing newsmen concerning the 26th Convocation ceremony and 35th Founder’s Day Celebration.

Nigerian Customs Seizes Two Helicopters At Lagos Airport


An attempt to smuggle two civil model Bell Helicopters into the country by a yet to be identified person has led to their forfeiture to the Nigerian Customs Service, the Customs said on Friday.

The helicopters were subsequently handed over to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to aid its fight against the Boko Haram insurgency in the Northeast.

The contraband was seized at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, on November 7, 2016.

PDP Blast Okorocha Says He Should Be Praying For Buhari, Not Campaigning For 2019


The Imo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the procurement of aircraft and inauguration of an airline, ‘Imo Air’ by Governor Rochas Okorocha at the Sam Mbakwe International Airport, Owerri, saying the governor was busy campaigning for his 2019 presidential ambition instead of praying for president Muhammadu Buhari who is on his sick bed.

PDP in a statement signed by Hon. Ray Emeana, described the inauguration of the airline as the commencement of Okorocha’s presidential campaign for 2019, accusing the governor of assembling resources at the expense of the state for his presidential ambition in 2019.

65-year-old man arrested for raping 8 & 10-year-old girls


The men of the Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 65-year-old man, Alosuposo Louis, for allegedly defiling two minors, aged 10 and eight respectively.

The police said the suspect was arrested following a complaint from the mother of one of the victims at the Ayetoro Police Division.

Governor Ayodele Fayose had told newsmen in Ekiti State that he foiled attempt by operatives of the DSS to arrest Apostle Suleiman who is in the state for a crusade.

The Nigerian army says the Zurmi emirate council in Zamfara state has handed over three suspected Boko Haram members to it.

Abdullahi Adamu, commanding officer, 223 light tank battalion of tactical operation unit, Gusau, said the suspects were apprehended by a local vigilante in the area.

He said the three suspects had been moved to the 1 division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, for interrogation.

Apostle Johnson Suleiman threatens legal action against DSS


Apostle Johnson Suleiman of the Omega Fire Ministries (OFM), has threatened to sue the Department of State Services (DSS) for allegedly attempting to arrest him in Ado Ekiti.

Operatives of the DSS were alleged to have stormed the hotel room of the pastor in Adebayo area of the state capital on Wednesday and attempted to force their way to his room to arrest him.

They were, however, resisted by security men of the hotel that insisted on knowing their mission. Minutes later, Governor Ayodele Fayose led a rescue mission to the hotel forcing the operatives to flee the scene.

APC’s Constitution Review Targeted At Tinubu, Others – Timi Frank reveals


Barely 24 hours after the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) inaugurated its constitution review committee, the party’s embattled Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Timi Frank, has faulted the exercise, alleging that it was aimed at easing out some powerful individuals.
