Iheanacho: I saved up N50 to watch Aguero’s EPL-winning goal

Kelechi Iheanacho has told The Players’ Tribune that he had to save up around 15p (50 naira) to watch Sergio Aguero’s famous goal that secured the Premier League title for Manchester City in 2012.

Iheanacho was a 15-year-old in his native Nigeria when his now teammate Aguero scored a 94th-minute winner on the final day of the season to clinch a 3-2 victory over Queens Park Rangers and City’s first title in 44 years.

Iheanacho had never watched City before but says the moment had a big impact on him — and four years on, the strikers are now lining up alongside each other at the Etihad Stadium.

A Brazilian mother stabbed her 17-year-old son to death because he was gay after two thugs she hired to kill him failed to do so.

Tatiana Lozano Pereira, 32, admitted to killing her son Itaberli Lozano in Cravinhos, Sao Paulo.

According to local reports, Pereira had long rejected her son because he was gay.

They had an explosive row at Christmas after which Itaberli moved in with his grandmother. Pereira pretended to forgive him and, on December 29, urged him to return home.

3 Feared Dead In Renewed Southern Kaduna Violence

At least three people have been feared killed and several others injured in a renewed violence in part of Southern Kaduna, residents have said.

According to residents who spoke to our correspondents, the fresh attacks took place on at about 9:30 pm on Tuesday night at a relaxation joint near Samarun Kataf Market, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of the state.

Four persons were feared dead and scores of persons injured in the renewed boundary crisis between Oku Iboku community in Akwa Ibom and Ikot Offiong in Cross River.

Bassey Essien Bassey, a former Vice Chairman of Itu Local Government Area, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria in Itu on Tuesday.

Mr. Bassey said that several persons sustained injuries while over 20 houses were burnt, including a filling station in the age-long communal conflict.
