APC blasts Okorocha for attacking Buhari’s minister‎, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu


Acting Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Ebonyi State chapter, Pastor Eze Nwachukwu Eze, has slammed Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State over a recent statement credited to him where he attacked Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, Minister of Science and Technology.

The party described Okorocha’s utterance as noisy rantings and insult of the highest order.

In a statement, Eze noted that Okorocha’s antecedents hardly placed him in a position to judge others in delivering democracy dividends to the people.

Obama to Putin: We'll retaliate over US election hacks


President Barack Obama on Thursday vowed retaliatory action against Russia for its meddling in the U.S. presidential election, pointing to the probable that President Vladimir Putin personally authorised it.
“I think there is no doubt that when any foreign government tries to impact the integrity of our elections that we need to take action and we will at a time and place of our own choosing,” Obama said in an interview scheduled to air on Friday on National Public Radio, according to CNN.

24-year-old man gruesomely murdered on his birthday


A family, whose son was shot dead in Ojuelegba, Lagos, on his 24th birthday, has cried out to police for justice against the assailants who gruesomely murdered their child.

The News Agency of Nigeria gathered that Afenghide George was fatally shot on Nov. 27, few days after an hotelier allegedly threatened him with gun following an argument.

But according to the deceased’s father, Mr Matthew George-Umaigba, the four suspected killers of his son were seen moving about freely in the area.

Reading a prepared statement, Senator Abdullahi yesterday said: “The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria wishes to inform the general public that based on security reports available to the Senate; the Senate cannot proceed and confirm the nomination of Ibrahim Magu Mustapha as Executive Chairman of EFCC.

Court dismisses appeal to reinstate Nyako as Adamawa governor


The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed an appeal by a former Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, seeking an order reinstating him to office to enable him to complete his truncated second term.

Nyako still had 10 months left to spend in office when he was removed by the Adamawa State House of Assembly on July 15, 2014.

The seven-man panel of the apex court led by Justice Tanko Muhammad held in its judgment that it agreed with the earlier decision of the Court of Appeal that declared Nyako’s removal from office as illegal, but that it was unable to reinstate him because of the “special facts” of the case while it was before the lower court.

SHOCKING! Yahoo discloses hack of 1 billion accounts

Yahoo disclosed a few days back that it has discovered a breach of more than one billion user accounts that occurred in August 2013. The breach is believed to be separate and distinct from the theft of data from 500 million accounts that Yahoo reported this September.

Troublingly, Yahoo’s chief information security officer Bob Lord says that the company hasn’t been able to determine how the data from the one billion accounts was stolen. “We have not been able to identify the intrusion associated with this theft,” Lord wrote in a post announcing the hack.
