Leo Messi set to marry his babies mama, Antonella Roccuzzo


Barcelona star and world football icon, Lionel Messi is reportedly set to marry his childhood sweetheart Antonella Roccuzzo next summer.

According to Mirror UK, the wedding is expected to take place in their native city of Rosario in Argentina where they met as children through Lucas Scaglia, Antonella’s footballer cousin and a close friend of Messi.

Local journalist Juan Pablo Varsky broke the news on Wednesday on a radio programme.

A woman gave birth to a baby with two heads, on Tuesday at Med-in specialist hospital, Osogbo street, Lagos, through an elective Caesarean section.

Various scans the woman underwent in the course of the pregnancy, indicated that she was having a twins.

The baby was resuscitated and transferred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) for advance care. According to one of the nurses who was in the delivery room, they had prepared two cots for each of the twins but were shocked when they saw that they were conjoined.

It was gathered the woman put to bed after months of apprehension due to complications arising from the assault by the pastor.

A housewife, Amudat Shosanya, was yesterday arraigned before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stabbing her husband’s lover with a broken bottle.

According to The Nation, Mrs Shosanya, who hails from Kwara State, was said to have stabbed Remilekun Adeshina on the head, neck, hand and fingers. The accused, it was learnt, has been married to her husband, Wasiu for eight years without a child.

The accused, it was learnt, caught her husband with Remilekun and quarrelled with him for having extra-marital affair. She allegedly stabbed her husband on the lap close to his manhood.

Vladimir Putin Was Directly Involved in U.S. Election Hack - U.S. Officials Says


U.S. intelligence officials revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin became personally involved in Russia’s interference with the U.S. presidential election.

According to NBC reports, two senior officials with direct access to the information say new intelligence shows that Putin personally directed how hacked material from Democrats was leaked and otherwise used. The intelligence came from diplomatic sources and spies working for U.S. allies, the officials said.

An Osun State High Court sitting in Ile Ife has sentenced a couple – Fatai Jimoh and Lateefat Jimoh – to death by hanging for armed robbery and the murder of one Mrs. Bukola Taiwo of Ikeketu, Ile Ife.

Taiwo was said to have gone on a business trip to Ile Ife on August 12, 2009, and slept over at the Jimohs’ apartment.

It was learnt that the victim, who was a palm oil dealer, used to come from Ibadan, Oyo State, to buy palm oil at Ile Ife.

United States Govt. announces $92m additional humanitarian assistance for Nigeria


This week, the United States Government announced nearly $92 million in additional humanitarian assistance to people affected by the ongoing conflict and severe food insecurity in Nigeria and throughout the Lake Chad Basin region.

With this announcement, the United States is providing more than $291 million in humanitarian assistance since the 2016 fiscal year to people affected by the Boko Haram-related conflict and the related humanitarian crisis. The United States continues to be the single largest humanitarian donor to the region.

Joseph Yobo bemoans poor treatment of Super Falcons


Former Super Eagles skipper, Joseph Yobo, has expressed his sadness over the poor treatment meted on players of the Super Falcons since they returned from this 2016 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

A Federal High Court in Abuja was unable to proceed with the trial of a former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani- Kayode, as scheduled on Wednesday because of the ex-minister’s ill health.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had on November 11, 2016, arraigned Fani-Kayode on five charges involving alleged diversion of N26m which he allegedly received from the then National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, under the guise of payment for contract.

The ex-minister allegedly received the money from the Office of the National Security Adviser while he was the Director of Media and Publicity in the campaign organisation of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

Nigeria Police chief charges officers to monitor Shiites seriously


A police chief has charged officers to monitor the activities of Shiites in a part of Nigeria. The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG, in charge of Zone One, comprising Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States, Adamu Ibrahim, charged police officers in the zone to remain vigilant and monitor activities of Shiites in the zone.

Mr. Ibrahim gave the charge while addressing officers of Jigawa Police Command in Dutse on Wednesday.

He explained that the recent clash between the Shiites and police in Kano indicated that they were a violent group and must be monitored seriously.
