According to reports making rounds, this video footage below is that of a party chieftain who was surrounded by security officials being tackled by voters for trying to share money to an electorate.

According to Ondo Television, the party chieftain is All Progressives Congress (APC’s) Tunji Light Ariyo. The event occurred at St Thomas polling center in Akure.

Yesterday night all road lead to The Escape where Don Jazzy had his birthday bash. Friends and colleagues of the ace music producer threw him a surprise birthday party last night. 

The guest list included new signee Iyanya, Dr. Sid, Reekado Banks and more. All preparations and the guest list were kept top-secret leaving Don Jazzy surprised but the biggest highlight of the night was the presentation of Don Jazzy with a bottle of the John Walker & Sons Private Collection 2015 Edition. Don Jazzy will be one of 100 people in Nigeria to own a bottle that cost N500,000.

President Buhari assures that 2017 Budget will not be padded


President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday promised to ensure that the 2017 Budget is not padded like was done with the 2016 Budget.

He said he would never allow “rogue projects and figures” to be injected into the financial document again under his watch.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, in a statement quoted Buhari as making the promise while receiving members of the Governance Support Group led by Mr. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Atiku Abubakar's wife tells court how she was scammed of N918m


Mrs. Aminat Titi Abubakar, wife of former Nigeria’s Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, yesterday told a Lagos high court sitting in Ikeja of how she was defrauded of N918 million by a former governorship aspirant in Akwa Ibom State, Nsikakabasi Akpan Jacobs.

The  Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arraigned Jacobs, Abdulmalik Ibrahim and Dana Motors  on a 15-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and fraudulent conversion of properties belonging to THA Shipping Maritime Services Ltd.

Robbery suspects reveal how they are conductors by day, robbers by night


Two bus conductors, 22-year-old Lateef Sodiq and 21-year-old Tunde Lawal, have been nabbed by men of the Lagos State Command after robbing a motorist of his Honda saloon car.

The duo are members of a car-snatching gang operating in Lagos. According to the suspects, they “supplement” their work as bus conductors with robbery.

Sodiq told Punch that he was arrested in a bus by men of the Alakara Police Division, Lagos, who were already on his trail without his knowledge.

Phone shop owner where Seun Egbegbe attempted to rob speaks out


The owner of the phone shop filmmaker Seun Egbegbe attempted to rob during the week has spoken about the incident.

Kolawole Aleshinloye's shop, Kaaltech Innovations, has been under lock and key since the incident and when Saturday Beats reached out to him on telephone, he said:
“At this point, I am out of town and I told them to lock my store. I came around yesterday and witnessed everything. I put down my statement at Area F Police Command. The case is with the police. I told them to lock my store because my boy was wounded and he is currently at the hospital.

Little boy rescued after getting stuck in a washing machine while playing (Photos)


Footage has emerged of a two-year-old boy being rescued from a washing machine in China. The boy had to be rescued by firefighters after becoming stuck in his home in Shizuishan, northern China on November 16. In order to rescue the child, firefighters had to completely dismantle the machine. 

His head and hands were left stocking out of the machine as firefighters were forced to dismantle the machine to get the toddler out.

A popular man of God accused of paying a church member who later died during a failed miracle session, N500,000, has finally spoken out about what truly happened.

25-year-old Ninsiima Allen, a prostitute from Uganda has been arrested by the Holy Ghost. According to Robert Kayanja Ministres on Facebook, she gave her life to Christ after attending one of the church crusades #77DOGS.

Ninsiima who surrendered all her condom pack after she was convicted by the Holy Ghost went back to her camp where she had been practicing prostitution. She apparently preached to her former colleagues, testifying that she’s now a born-again and has been forgiven of all her iniquities.

Say What! Ugandan law student banned from attending class because of this outfit (Photos)


The Law Development Centre in Uganda banned a young lady from attending lectures for dressing in a mini skirt as shown in the picture above.

The law student identified as Joanine Nanyange, took to Facebook on Wednesday to protest against the unfair treatment she received from the security officers at the centre’s gate.

According to the victim, she said the officer explained that her skirt will distract the boys in her class and make them not concentrate.

#OndoDecides: We have no confidence in INEC – PDP


The Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led Peoples Democratic Party has said that it has no confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission.

It also alleged that the commission played a “suspicious role” in frustrating its candidate in the Ondo State governorship election, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), from campaigning for the election.

A spokesman for the party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, stated this at a press conference in Abuja on Friday.

The police yesterday declared its readiness for today’s governorship election in Ondo State with the deployment of 22 armoured vehicles, 20 gunboats, 2 helicopters.

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, Joshak Habila, said anyone found inducing voters with money would be arrested, no matter how highly placed.

The DIG, who is the ground commander-in-charge of Ondo governorship election, said every arrangement had been made to ensure there were no security breaches.

Internally Displaced Persons in Bauchi State have lamented that they have been rejected, abandoned and are being treated as refugees in their own country.

The Chairman, IDPs in Bauchi State, Buba Shehu, stated this during an interactive session with the Security, Stability and Peace Building sub-committee of the Lt.-Gen. Theophilus Danjuma-led Presidential Committee on the North-East Initiative.

The sub-committee, led by its chairman, Brig. Gen. Habila Vitenaba, was in Bauchi for an on-the-spot assessment and to have an interaction with the IDPs, the government, and people of the state.

Not less than 470,000 Nigerians die from firewood smoke in five years


Not less than 470,000 Nigerians are believed to have died from firewood smoke-induced ailments in the past five years.

The World Health Organisation recently said smoke from open fire is Nigeria’s third biggest killer with over 95,000 deaths annually behind Malaria and HIV/AIDS.

It added that the majority of the people affected are women, who cook for their families and their children, who often stay close to them in the kitchen.

Fidel Castro is dead at age 90


Guerrilla revolutionary and communist idol, Fidel Castro was a holdout against history who turned tiny Cuba into a thorn in the paw of the mighty capitalist United States.

The former Cuban president, who died aged 90 on Friday, said he would never retire from politics.
