Former Liverpool striker, El Hadji Diouf says club legend, Steven Gerrard is nothing, adding that he had told him so.

Diouf had previously hit out at the former Liverpool captain, claiming Italian striker, Mario Balotelli’s struggles at the club were caused by the former England captain.

Diouf again slammed his former team-mate after the Liverpool great confirmed his retirement yesterday.

Shettima says all IDP camps to be closed by May, 2017

Kashim Shettima, Governor of Borno State has disclosed that all Internally Displaced Person (IDP) camps in the state would be closed down by May 29, 2017.

Shettima told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Maiduguri, the state has nearly two million displaced persons.

He said the government had placed priority on the reconstruction of communities destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents, to facilitate the return of IDPs to their towns and villages.

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress APC, Mr Afolabi Olaposi was reportedly killed by unknown gunmen on Thursday night in Owo.

The Party said in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Mr Abayomi Adesanya, on Friday in Akure that Olaposi was shot dead on his way home after attending a meeting of the party in preparation for the governorship election.

This is a dangerous combination. Both men are anti-PDP and Soremilekun is the same individual that was appointed as the returning officer for the Edo state 2016 governorship election. Sadly we witnessed the havoc that he caused there. We must stop those robbery operation. Ondo state is not Edo and if they rig the election there will be consequences. We must begin to learn from history.

Chinese school award wads of cash to top students but people are questioning this gesture (Photos)

A secondary school has sparked an outcry in China after awarding her top pupils with wads of cash.

A total of eight million yuan (£930,000) was given away during an award ceremony held at the Shuren Middle School in Zhejiang province on November 20. A total of 239 pupils were awarded, students aged around 15, who were said to have passed China's high school entrance examination with flying colours.

Pictures from the award ceremony, which have gone viral on Chinese social media, show piles of 100 yuan bank notes stacking up on the table in the middle of the school hall.

Pastor pretends to be praying & anointing 17-year-old girl then raped her (Photo)

A pastor, Adekunle Francis, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command at Ipamesan, Sango Ota, for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl, Dolapo.

The suspect, who was arrested on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, was said to have lured the girl into an uncompleted building under the pretext of praying for and anointing her.
