Police find the body of '7-year-old' phone thief burnt to death in a Lagos canal


The Lagos State Police Command has located the charred remains of a robbery suspect who was burnt to death by a mob in the Orile area of the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said the suspect was believed to be between 20 and 25 years old, and not a seven-year-old boy lynched over garri, which went viral on the social media.

Owoseni, who noted that the lynching occurred around 4pm penultimate Saturday, said the police had contacted an emergency agency of the state government to remove the corpse.

Aliko Dangote Set To Begin In-country Coal Mining, Ends Importation


Dangote Cement Industries has said it will commence the mining and sourcing of coal for its cement production within Nigeria in the next two and half months, thus putting an end to its importation of the mineral from foreign sources.

Speaking at the 46th Annual General Meeting and conference of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE) at the weekend in Abuja, the Group Managing Director of Dangote Cements, Mr. Edwin Devakumar said the company has concluded on this and will go ahead with it.

Late Gov Audu’s Son Says His Father’s Shoe Too Big For Me


One year after the death of the first civilian governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu, his first son, Mohammed on Tuesday said the shoes left by his father were too big for him to step into. He also dispelled the rumour that there was a crack in the political family left behind by Audu, saying all this that believed in the former governor were still intact. 

Mohammed, who spoke during the one year remembrance prayer for his father held at his country home in Ogonicha, Ofu local government area of Kogi State, said it had been difficult managing the members of the political family after the demise of his father.

 He however said he was learning the rope faster and would continue to sustain the values and ideals for which his father was known.

Taking just a month to build, the project was initiated to stimulate the soldiers' interest in car maintenance during their training. This Optimus Prime was built entirely from spare parts.

Borno State | Court Martial Jails Soldier For Stealing Bullets, Demotes Three Others


A military general court martial in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Tuesday sentenced a soldier to 18 months in prison for unauthorized possession of live ammunitions outside his assigned duty post. Nigerian Airforce says their fighter jets attacked Boko Haram, killed scores


The fighter pilots of the Nigerian Air Force have killed several Boko Haram insurgents in multiple operations in the north of Borno State.

The Director, Public Relations and Information of the NAF, Grp. Capt. Ayodele Famuyiwa, said in a statement on Tuesday that fighter jets bombarded a Boko Haram location at Kadari and killed an unspecified number of the insurgents.

Famuyiwa said that the fighter jets also carried out airstrikes on selected Boko Haram targets at Ngoshe on November 18, 2016.
