"How I Was Accused Of Stealing iPhones & Beaten Up" - Toyin Aimakhu Ex-BF, Seun Egbegbe


Embattled producer and socialite, Seun Egbegbe, arrested this morning (Tuesday, November 22) at Computer Village (Ikeja, Lagos) by the police for allegedly stealing 9 iPhones, has denied the theft.

The estranged lover of star actress Toyin Aimakhu told the police that he was on his way to his car to pick money for the phones when the sales boy raised an alarm that he was bolting away.

He was apprehended by passersby and beaten. Thereafter, policemen from Area F in GRA Ikeja were alerted, and he has whisked away.

A car thief, who uses a device he called ‘Try Your Luck Key’ to steal vehicles from where they are parked, has landed in police net in Enugu.

The suspect, Ikechukwu Isaiah, reportedly hails from Abia State but resides in New Nyanya, Nasarawa State.

SOUTHERN CITY NEWS learnt that the police in Enugu had been on Isaiah’s trail since August, when he stole a Toyota Camry, with registration number BJ 697 UWN.

The Army authorities have reportedly informed the families of the 46 personnel of the fate of their loved ones and requested that their next of kin forward bank details for onward remittance of accrued payments.

Jadon and his brother Anias, 14 months, were born conjoined at the head. Doctors separated the boys in a 27-hour surgery on October 13. And a month later, as they make a historically rapid recovery, they have been pictured looking at each other for the first time.

The pair will be moved to a rehab facility shortly after Thanksgiving, six weeks after surgery. 

Lagos Traditional Ruler's Son And Two Brothers Sentenced to Death By Hanging For Murder


Two brothers, Shola and Kayode Oni and one other person, are to die by hanging for the murder of one Suleiman Afolabi during a fight on Christmas day in 2012. Also to be hanged to death alongside the two siblings is Ibrahim Omilade, the son of a traditional ruler in Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos State, Chief Bashiru Omilade.

The incident happened at Eyin Ogun Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi, in Lagos State when Suleiman received several machete cut which led to his death.

The accused person were found guilty for the death of the deceased by Justice Kudirat Jose of a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja.

HIV Man Slept With More Than 100 Women Sentenced To Jail With Hard Labour (Photos)


An HIV-positive Malawian man who said he slept with at least 100 girls and women in traditional cleansing rituals has been sentenced to two years in jail and hard labour after being convicted of 'engaging in harmful practices'.

Malawi's President Peter Mutharika had ordered the arrest of Eric Aniva, a sex worker known locally as a "hyena", after he admitted in a BBC interview to having sex with more than 100 women and underage girls and not disclosing his HIV status.

Ahmed Makarfi: PDP leadership crisis will be over before the end of December


The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Caretaker Committee Chairman, Sen Ahmed Makarfi, has predicted that the leadership crises that have bedeviled the party will be over by the end of the year.

Speaking in Abuja, the former Kaduna State governor said the decision to give the caretaker committee a one-year extension in Port Harcourt during the party’s National Convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in August was a right decision.

80% of JAMB candidates not qualified to write UTME – Registrar


The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has revealed that 40 per cent of candidates, who pass the examination annually conducted by the body, do not have the qualification to study in the university.

This was as he stated that 80 per cent of the 1.5 candidates, who apply to write the yearly Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, do not have the qualifications to sit for it.

Oloyede made this known in Abuja at the 2016 Nigeria Higher Education Summit with the theme: “Exploiting diversity, differentiation and quality assurance in revitalising the Nigerian higher education system.”

How fake bureau de change operator scammed victim of N1.7m in Lagos


A bureau de change operator, Usman Nafada, was Monday arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court sitting in Lagos State for allegedly conniving with an accomplice now at large to swindle one Abdullahi Uba of N1.7m.

A police prosecutor, Francisca Job, told the court that the victim had approached Nafada on November 16, at the Obalende area of the state to help him change the sum to dollars.

Nafada, facing a three count charge bordering on stealing was said to have told Uba that he did not have hard currency for the exchange but collected the money from Uba and took it to his fake partner.

Lagos lynching: Senate says Nigerians losing confidence in government


The Senate on Tuesday called on the Nigeria Police to probe into the recently reported mob action in the Orile area of Lagos State in which a young boy was burnt to death for alleged stealing.
