Despicable! Man kills 16-yr-old step-daughter, sells head to son for N3,000
A 63-year-old man Korede Odubela, has been arrested by police in Ogun State for allegedly killing his 16-year-old step-daughter, Amudat Oshimodi, and selling her head to his son, Seun, a herbalist, who allegedly paid N3,000 as first installment.
It was gathered that the suspect reportedly connived with another accomplice, Lekan Lawal, to commit the crime at Imosan Area of Ijebu Ode Local Government Area of the state.
These were revealed by the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, who paraded 12 suspects, including the two suspected killers, at the command’s headquarters, Eleweran Abeokuta, yesterday, for various offences including robbery, burglary and stealing.
APC sharing contaminated and killer bread to Ondo people – Eyitayo Jegede
The factional governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), has warned the residents of the state to shun loaves of bread allegedly being distributed by some agents of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN).
He alleged that the bread contained some chemical substances that could destroy the health of its consumers.
Jegede, who spoke in Akure through the Director of the Eyitayo Jegede Campaign Organisation, Mr. Kayode Fasua, disclosed that the “poisoned bread” had allegedly landed many of its consumers in hospitals.
Timi Frank drag APC to court over suspension
The embattled deputy national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has sued the governing party over his suspension and the move to expel him.
Frank told reporters in Abuja, reiterating his stand that he remained the acting spokesperson of the APC.
He said he resorted to legal option to seek redress after the refusal of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to react to his letters, citing relevant sections of the party’s constitution on why he has right to act as the spokesperson of the party.
EFCC confirms ongoing probe of MMM operations in Nigeria
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has confirmed that it is investigating operations of the MMM investment scheme in Nigeria.
EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said the agency has put MMM under surveillance, and that the House of Representatives cannot direct the EFCC to investigate what he described as faceless wonder bank like MMM.

Nigerian troops suffered another setback on Tuesday in the quest to root out Boko Haram remnants from the North-eastern part of the country, with the reported death of the Commanding Officer of the 114 Task Force Battalion, Lt.-Col. B.U. Umar.
According to reports by THISDAY, the casualties of Nigerian troops in the latest Boko Haram ambush, which occurred between Pita and Piridang in Borno State, could be well over eight.
Military sources, who could not confirm whether others in the commanding officer’s convoy were killed or survived the attack, said that the unfortunate incident occurred yesterday morning.

Customs seize 1600 bags of smuggled rice in Lagos
Officials of the Nigeria Customs on Sunday raided Itekun waterside at Ishasi, a suburb near Iba Local Government Area of Lagos, where they seized 1600 bags of rice brought into the country illegally by smugglers.
