Zenith Bank reportedly sacks husband who attacked his estranged wife, charged with attempted murder

Sometime in September, there were reports about domestic violence involving one Ivie Edobor. She cried out for Justice after her Husband, John Edobor attacked her after they got separated following their failed marriage.

Now, According to one of Ivie Edobor’s lawyers, Emeka Ugwuonye, Zenith Bank has fired her estranged husband, Mr John Edobor, who is currently standing trial for the attempted murder of of his estranged wife.

Unknown Gunmen abduct 61-year-old widow in Lagos

Gunmen around the creeks of Ishawo, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, unleashed terror on Friday, abducting a 61-year-old widow, Mrs. Victoria Falodi, who lives on Iyewa Olorunsogo Estate.

PUNCH Metro learnt that a neighbour, identified only as Baba Ayomide, had gone to the woman’s residence around 8am on that day to charge his mobile phone.

It was gathered that the woman had collected the phone from him and had wanted to enter her house when the bandits accosted her and whisked her into the bush while Baba Ayomide was beaten up.

Davy Moakes, 86, and Helen Andre, 82, fell in love while studying at art college and got engaged in 1951.

But Helen’s parents did not want their daughter to marry an artist and called the wedding off two years later.

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, said today he is not in any form of in trouble with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over the diversion of the sum of N400 million allocated to the PDP in the state to compromise last year’s Presidential poll.

The governor made the clarification in reaction to reports at the weekend suggesting that he used his firms, Osborn La-Palm Royal Resort Ltd and Brass Engineering & Construction Nig. Ltd.to divert the N400 million bribe allocated to PDP in Ebonyi State and thereafter used the money to build hotels. Umami, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Emma Anya, contended that he had nothing to do with the two companies, having relinquished his interests in them before becoming Ebonyi governor.

Patience Jonathan linked to fresh $175 million

Where is the $175,750,000 deposited in an account linked to former First lady Patience Jonathan?

This is the question the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is battling to answer.

The deposits were found in the account of Pluto Property and Investment Limited, one of the firms linked to Mrs. Jonathan.

The EFCC has launched a manhunt for two suspects, Toru Wonyeng Ibuomo and Friday Davies, linked to the curious deposits in four tranches within 14 months — between February 21, 2014 and April 1, 2015.

Fashola reveals Lagos-Ibadan Road will be completed soon

Expansion and rehabilitation work on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway will be completed soon, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has said.

Fashola, who reviewed his first year in office in Lagos at the weekend, said the long bridge at the Lagos-Ogun boundary on the road had to be shut because construction work was ongoing underneath it.

“Roads are depreciating assets that need constant maintenance and regulated usage,” he said, adding that the issue of overloaded trucks was being addressed.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris has said the nation will enjoy its best Christmas period ever, giving the drop in crime rate.

Idris stated this at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, after returning from Indonesia, where he attended the 85th Annual Conference of International Police (Interpol).

He said: “From all indications, we are having the best Christmas period this year because the crime rate seems to be under control.”

Governor Fayose pays N200 million to homeowners

Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has distributed cheques worth N200million to the second batch of landlords whose properties are to give way to the construction of the 1.2km Fajuyi/Ojumose flyover.

The beneficiaries were landlords in Okesa, Ado-Ekiti many of whom were happy to receive their cheques.
