Governor Ambode Unveils Tower At Eko Atlantic City


Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, on Friday, unveiled the Eko Black Pearl Tower, one of the residential high-rise buildings located in the center of Eko Atlantic City in Lagos.

Ambode said that the unveiling marked the official take-off of the Eko Atlantic City (EAC) – a multi-billion dollar project constructed on reclaimed land from the Atlantic Ocean.
“This unveiling has brought Eko Atlantic City to life. This building has set a new standard for property development in this state.

Barcelona ready to make massive offer for Philippe Coutinho


Barcelona is ready to ramp up their interest in Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho - and are looking to land him for £65million.

That is according to Spanish newspaper Sport, who have put the Brazilian on their front page with Barca reportedly lining up a bid.

The report comes just the following morning after Coutinho and Barcelona forward Neymar combined to lead Brazil tao a 3-0 win over fierce rivals Argentina.

Bitter delegates set man ablaze in PDP Abia primaries


A man identified as Onyemaechi was burnt alive during an outbreak of violence at the primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia state.

Ogbonnaya Nta, the spokesman of the Abia state police command, confirmed the incident to NAN, but did not give details of how Onyemachi was killed.

Nta said the deceased was a member of the staff of Isialangwa north local government, venue of the election.

Manchester City striker Sergio Agüero has insisted there is no rift between him and manager Pep Guardiola but admits that he is already thinking about life after the Etihad.

Agüero is currently away on international duty with Argentina but has been in fine form for his club this season having already bagged 11 goals in all competitions.

Despite some impressive performances, the former Atletico Madrid striker found himself on the bench for City's matches against Barcelona and Everton in October. This had led to speculation that the Argentine had fallen out with his boss, and that Guardiola was considering selling the striker.

MMM now our surviving hope - Bayelsa doctors laments


Resident doctors attached to the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State last week protested over unpaid four months salaries owed them by the Federal Government, threatening to withdraw medical services to patients on November 15.

The protesting doctors, under the Association of Resident Doctors said though they have met the management of the Federal Medical Centre over the issue, the responses were not encouraging.

The aggrieved resident doctors led by their Chairman, Dr. Nonso Okoye, and armed with placards some of which reads “Our Families are hungry”, FG pay our salaries” and “we are hungry, MMM is becoming an option”‎, called on Nigerians to prevail on the Federal Government to pay up salaries owed them.

Governor Wike sacks special adviser on Protocol


The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has sacked his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Protocol, Sir Joe Akpa.

Wike, through his Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, Friday in Port Harcourt, wished Akpa well in his future endeavours.

No reason was given for the sack of the top aide by Wike, a lawyer and former Minister of State for Education, but investigation revealed that Akpa was suddenly relieved of his appointment in view of a minor breach of protocol.

Alex Iwobi will turn down a big-money move to mighty Barcelona to stay at Arsenal because he is still learning the trade, according to his father.

Ibe Kachikwu says Security challenges in Niger Delta will be over soon


The Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, has assured Nigerians that the security challenges in the Niger Delta will soon be resolved.

Kachikwu gave the assurance in Abuja on Friday in a statement signed by the ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Mr Idang Alibi.

The minister, according to the statement, observed that three attacks had taken place in the last two weeks, including Wednesday’s Forcados bombing, in spite of efforts being made to promote peace in the region.

A dog owner has been jailed for feeding his pet painkillers before beating the animal to death with a shovel.

Graham Williams, 60, tried to kill his German Shepherd called Yarna with aspirin and paracetamol because she was suffering from a melon-size tumour.

Mom kicked out 8-year-old son for voting Trump at school


This child came back home to meet his suitcase waiting for him after he told his mom he voted for Donald Trump at school.

The mom gave him a placard and sent the crying boy outside the house.

This might just be to show her child how much she hates Trump, but don't you think she went too far with it? He is just a child.

Nine Feared Dead In Fatal Vehicle Accident Along Enugu Expressway


No fewer than nine persons including two females were feared dead in an auto crash which occurred along the busy Enugu/Nsukka Expressway by 9th mile corner, Enugu.

The vehicle, Nissan bus with registration number NUJ 3 conveying passengers and driven by one Adams Awudu, was said to have had break failure while descending a hill close to 9th mile corner Ngwo.

Five NAHCO Staff Charge With Drug Smuggling At Abuja Airport By NDLEA


The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has filed charges against officials of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) at the Federal High Court, Abuja over an attempt to smuggle 144kg of ephedrine to Maputo, Mozambique.

The anti-narcotics agency said in a statement signed by its spokesman, Mitchell Ofoyeju, that the foiled effort took place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Donald Trump Removes 'Muslim Ban' From His Website


One of President-elect Donald Trump‘s most divisive promises to ban Muslims from entering America disappeared from his campaign website before reappearing on Thursday.

Trump‘s campaign staff told US media that text of the pledge, posted in December following terror attacks in San Bernardino, California, vanished because of a technical glitch.

It reappeared after journalists questioned the disappearance.

Surgeons were forced to remove the majority of her brain tissue during a life-saving operation when she was just a day old.

Federal Government donates Made-In-Nigeria drugs to Cameroon's train accident victims. Photos


The Federal government today donated 70 tonnes of Made-In-Nigeria drugs to victims of a train mishap that happened in Cameroon in October this year. No fewer than 70 people were killed and nearly 600 injured when an overloaded passenger train travelling between Cameroon's two largest cities derailed and overturned.

The drugs were presented to the Cameroonian envoy by Minister of state for Foreign Affairs, Khadija Bukar Abba.

The robbery attack happened at midnight on Sunday, November 6 at Town Planing Way in Ilupeju, Lagos.

9ice was heading to a show on the Island and about to swing towards the Anthony Village bridge to connect the Gbagada Expressway when an ash-coloured SUV with four armed men inside abruptly stopped and blocked 9ice’s Mercedes Benz car.
