#USElection: Trump says he doesn't need Jay-Z, Beyonce to draw a crowd


Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump took yet another swipe at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over the size of her crowds during a rally Friday night, saying that he doesn't need "J-Lo or Jay-Z" to pack an arena to capacity.

Trump made the remark while opening his rally in central Pennsylvania, saying that there's "no guitar" and "no piano" at his events as an attraction.

About 25 persons who served as ministers, aides or advisers to former President Goodluck Jonathan are being either investigated or prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission.

Apart from ministers and aides, Jonathan’s wife, Patience, and his cousin, Azibaola Robert, who is the Managing Director of OnePlus Holdings, are also under probe for an alleged $20m and $40m fraud respectively.

Military confirms rescue of another Chibok girl


The Nigerian Army says it has rescued another abducted Chibok schoolgirl. Military authorities said troops rescued the girl early Saturday during an operation against Boko Haram insurgents at Pulka village of Gwoza local government in Borno State.

The girl, who was found with a 10-month-old baby, identified herself as Maryam Ali Maiyanga. She also informed the soldiers that her son, whom she bore to a Boko Haram member, is named Ali.

$29.9bn Loan Request: Falana tells Buhari, Don’t mortgage our future


A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, said if President Muhammadu Buhari was serious about fighting corruption, he [Buhari] would not mortgage the future of the country by seeking a $29.9bn loan.

Ever since the economy fell into recession primarily as a result of a significant drop in oil prices, the Federal Government has been looking for ways to get the economy back on track, including its recent application for a $29.9bn loan from external sources.

Though the Senate rejected the loan application on Tuesday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the President would resubmit the request to borrow the money.

The EFCC, on Friday, November 4, 2016 arraigned one Oluwatoyin Jinadu, a former banker with First City Monument Bank, FCMB, before Justice Sylvanus Oriji of the FCT High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja on a 20-count charge bordering on theft and forgery to the tune of N52million.

Trouble started for Jinadu when a petition was sent to the EFCC alleging that as account officer to Dr. D. K. Okoye in the Wuse 2 Branch of the bank, she fraudulently transferred N52million from Dr. Okoye’s account without his knowledge or consent, into accounts in Zenith Bank, GTBank and Union Bank.

Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), on Friday, arrested four drug couriers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, while attempting to take the drugs to China, Indonesia and Qatar. Drug trafficking is punishable by death in the three countries. 

A statement by the spokesman of the anti-narcotics agency, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, gave the names of the suspects as Aniebue Peter Nnamma, 50; Sokpe Zubbye, alias Nzube Chukwudi), 37; Ugwuezumba Hyacinth Arinze, 38; and Obinna James Obi, 30.

The Ondo State Police Command has paraded nine crime suspects, apprehended from various parts of the state in the last one month.

Addressing newsmen at the state command headquarters in Akure, Commissioner of Police, Hilda Ibifuro-Harrison, stated that among the suspects was a telecommunications mast vandal, vehicle thief, fake soldier as well as a kidnapper.

The Police boss said “from the nooks and crannies of the state, from Akure to Ondo to Owo, persons have been robbed of their various articles of trade, personal properties, including vehicles as you can see displayed.

A Japanese man has taken a different route in owning a pet -by adopting a giant 6ft 8in, 46kg caiman (a type of alligator). Nobumitsu Murabayashi, 65, is regularly seen strolling down the roads of Kure City in Hiroshima, Japan with his unlikely pet. 

The gentle giant lives with Mr Murabayashi and his wife where he roams freely in their home. 

Saudi Arabia | Govt To Behead Disabled Man For Participating In Anti-government Protest


Saudi Arabia is set to behead a disabled man who is partially blind and deaf for taking part in an anti-government protest. 

Munir Adam, 23, has been sentenced to death for "attacks on police" and other offenses during protests in 2011. His distraught family said he was tortured into confessing before his sentence at a special criminal court in Riyadh.
