Restaurant Staff Gives Female Customer Stunning Punch After Fracas (Photos)


A restaurant worker punched a female customer three times in the face during a brutal assault caught on camera. The woman is seen being held back by three employees at the taco eatery in Queretaro, Mexico, after launching a verbal tirade.

One of the men pushed her to the ground, but when she got back up and confronted a kitchen worker who then hit her. 

Ghana confers on Nigeria's Mike Adenuha country's highest honour


Dr Mike Adenuga, Chairman of Globacom was on Saturday conferred with Ghana’s highest honour “The Companion of the Star of Ghana (CSG)” .

The conferment ceremony took place at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, 29 October. Addressing Adenuga during the conferment, President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama said the Award “is in recognition of your unique and outstanding contribution to business enterprise both in Ghana and the continent of Africa at large”.

APC says Former President GEJ must be probed for corruption


The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress said on Sunday said it was time former President Goodluck Jonathan was invited for questioning over the alleged looting of the nation’s treasury under his administration.

The APC chapter said it had now become indefensible to pretend that Jonathan did not know anything about the alleged corrupt practices of some of the public office-holders who served under him.

The party was reacting to Jonathan’s recent statement that he did not believe that his National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), who is currently facing trial, stole the $2.1bn budgeted for the purchase of arms.

Police say they know nothing as regards Chidinma Okeke S*x scandal


The Anambra State Police Command on Saturday said it had no knowledge of the sex scandal involving the 2015 winner of the Miss Anambra competition, Chidimma Okeke.

Chidimma’s alleged lesbian video had gone viral on the social media shortly after she was abruptly dethroned last week by the organisers of the pageant, the Anambra Broadcasting Service.

Her lawyer, Ikenna Obidiegwu, had on Wednesday last week alleged that the Anambra Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sam Okaula, had denied his client (Chidimma) police protection for a press conference in Awka to state her side of the story.

Though President Muhammadu Buhari was absent at the wedding of Fatimah, his second daughter, the bride expressed satisfaction with the turnout of guests.

Fatimah got married to Gimba Yau Kumo, a former managing director of Mortgage Bank, in Daura, Katsina state, on Friday.

Speaking with NAN, the bride said she was happy about the turnout of guests.

Fishermen Urge Federal Government to tighten up security in Calabar


Fishermen and traders at the Henshaw beach in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River state, are calling on both the state and the federal government to strengthen security along the high sea.

This according to them, is in order to prevent them from the daily harassment encountered on the sea by Cameroonian jam-darns.

The request is coming on the heels of series of harassment they have faced, which has, in turn, hindered them from their fishing activities.

Falana to FG: $30bn loan will jeopardise destiny of future generations


Femi Falana, human rights activist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has called on the federal government to shelve its plan to borrow $29.960 billion to execute key projects across the country.

He said the government would be putting the collective destiny of the younger generation in jeopardy should be loan be secured.

President Muhammadu Buhari recently sought the approval of the National Assembly to borrow the said loan from the World Bank.

Delta State | Militants blow up another pipeline


The Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate has attacked another crude oil delivery line at Effurun-Otor, Ughelli South Council Area of Delta State.

The pipeline, which is operated by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, was brought down by the militants early Sunday morning.

Greenland Mandate, whose leader was arrested two weeks ago, said the attack was in rejection of Tuesday’s meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and some leaders of the region.

Terrorists Group kill Five Soldiers, Four Others Killed in an Ambush


Five soldiers, three vigilantes, and one Civilian JTF member have been killed in an ambush on troops in Ugundiri village, Damboa Local Government Area, Borno State.

The Operation Lafiya Dole troops, who were carrying out clearance operations on suspected Boko Haram terrorists’ hideouts in Talala and Ajigin, southern part of the state were ambushed while returning to base after clearance operations on Saturday.

The attack also left 19 soldiers and one Civilian JTF member with various degrees of injuries.

The daughter of Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji is reportedly dead. Reports have it that Princess Mujidat Adejoke Adetunji-Alagbada, died in a car crash.

Sources said that the late Princess Mujidat who had been buried according to Islamic injunctions in Ibadan died in an accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Express Road.

Catholic Bishop of Sokoto diocese, Most Revd. Matthew Kukah, has cautioned members of the National Assembly against making laws that could disunite Nigeria.

He gave this warning in Abuja while speaking at the 50th birthday celebration of Senator Osita Izunaso and the 11th anniversary of his Kpakpando Foundation for physically challenged persons.

Bishop Kukah said Nigeria has gone through a lot of tough times since the days of independence up to the present day, which has made the country fragile and sensitive, and has positioned the society on the brinks of disintegration.

A dreaded robbery gang over the weekend attacked an Ughelli branch of Union Bank, and carted away N25 million after blowing up the bank’s vault with dynamite.

Governor comes to the rescue of mother of two held in Ebonyi Prisons over N400 cocoyam


A woman held at the Abakaliki Prisons for allegedly stealing N400 cocoyam has been released on the order of Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State. Umahi ordered her freedom after being briefed on Friday by the National Human Right Commission, NHRC, on the outcome of its investigation into the alleged extra-judicial killings of some inmates of the Abakaliki Prisons, during the August 18 attempted jail break.

The Chairman of the NHRC, Professor Ben Angwe, while revealing the pathetic condition of inmates of the prisons, mentioned the case of the woman, who was in the prison with her two children, as she had no one to cater for them.
