Senate amends Code of Conduct Tribunal Act
The senate has amended the act establishing the Code of Conduct Tribunal. At the plenary presided by Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, the senators passed 14 amendments to the Act. According to The Cable, the senate amended section 3 of the Act thus:

At least 13 young children have been detained for two weeks so far by the Jos state government in Nigeria's northern region since a recent ban on activities of minority Muslims of the Shia ideology. Held since Wednesday the 12th of October, 2016 the kids were charged for "disturbance of public peace."
These minors seen in various pictures being held in cells have since been denied bail as against the stipulations of the Nigerian constitution and the international laws on the rights to justice and global regulations on the protection of minorities as laid down in the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

MSF says 29 African migrants found dead in aboard boat in the Mediterranean (PHOTOs)
French aid group Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said that 29 African migrants had been found dead aboard an inflatable rubber boat in the Mediterranean Sea on Wednesday, October 26th.
MSF said its chartered rescue ship, the Bourbon Argos, picked up 107 people aboard the boat 26 nautical miles off Libya on Tuesday.
Its crew initially counted 11 corpses on the dinghy's floor, which was flooded with a mixture of fuel and seawater.

APC May Suspend Timi Frank as Party Leadership Sets Up Disciplinary Committee
The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has decided to investigate its deputy National Publicity Secretary, Timi Frank, for alleged anti-party activities.
Timi Frank has often been reported in the media criticising party members.
The committee, which was inaugurated by National Vice Chairman, South-South, Utufam Hilliard Eta has two weeks to submit its report.

Borno State | Internally Displaced Persons Hit Landmine While Returning Home
A truck carrying Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) hit a landmine on a highway causing an explosion which injured some of the passengers, officials report.
The displaced persons were on their way from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, back to Gamboru-Ngala, a border community liberated from Boko Haram, when the explosion occured.
The incident occurred barely an hour after military authorities in Maiduguri officially approved the transportation of the IDPs and food items to the liberated border community.

About 12 suspected members of a cult, Norsemen, have been arrested by the police for allegedly terrorising residents of Apo District, Abuja. The men have now been detained at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, including a locally-fabricated rifle, three cutlasses, and a knife.
According to Punch, the arrested men confessed that they were members of Norsemen, with each of them giving different reasons for joining the group. A suspect, Fidelis Ogabor, said he was compelled to join the group as a precondition for a N200,000 business loan he needed to set up a hair salon.
He stated that he lost his job as a supervisor in a factory and approached one William for assistance, but the latter insisted that he would help him only if he became a member of Norsemen.

A Virginia pastor, his wife and a friend of theirs have landed in trouble after allegedly defrauding their Alexandria congregation out of more than $1 million, Fox5DC reports.
The report states that Terry Wayne Millender, who serves as pastor of Victorious Life Church in Alexandria; his wife, Brenda; and a friend, Grenetta Wells, who is also affiliated with the church, were all recently indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money-laundering conspiracy.
