After 17 Years, 15-Year-Old Girl Who Was Kidnapped & Forced To Marry Reunites With Family (PHOTOS)
A teenager who was kidnapped and forced to marry a man twice her age has been rescued 17 years later when an SOS letter finally reached her family. The woman, who has only been identified as "A Hua", disappeared suddenly in 1999 when she was just 15.
At the time there was no evidence she had been abducted and her family believed she may have run away. Now aged 32, the woman, from the city of Jinjiang, in East China's Fujian Province, has finally been reunited with relatives after a letter she wrote five years ago was finally delivered.
Man impersonating Assistant Comptroller of Customs nab in Ogun State
A 55-year-old man who claims to be an Assistant Comptroller of the Nigerian Customs Service has been arrested by the police. The man arrested in Ogun State, police say, has duped unsuspecting Nigerians.
Mr Ariyo Wasiu, a resident of Lagos island was said to have been dismissed six years ago from the mechanic department of the customs for an act of indiscipline.

Police tells Married 14-year-old Katsina Girl To Return Home
The Katsina State Police Command has asked Habiba Isa, the 14-year-old girl who was allegedly coverted to Islam and forced into marriage, to return to her parents’ house.
The command maintained that at her age, she was too young to take any decision on marriage and religion.
The state police commissioner, Usman Abdullahi, gave the advice at a press conference in Katsina on Monday, while explaining the police’s position on the development.
Boko Haram says they have killed 20 soldiers during raid on Borno community
Boko Haram members using the name Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), Monday claimed responsibility for the death of 20 soldiers in an attack in the town of Ghashghar in Borno state on Sunday October 16th. The group, said in a statement that it “stormed a joint position of the armies of Nigeria and Niger” in the town of Ghashghar, killing 20 and leaving many seriously injured.
India to pump $15 billion into Nigeria’s oil sector
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, has negotiated a 1$5- billion dollar investment with Indian Government for the oil and gas sector.
The Director, Press Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Mr. Idang Alibi, in a statement on Monday, stated that the negotiations were part of the three-day investment drive of the minister to India.
It said the negotiations would be for terms to be agreed, where the Indian Government would make an upfront payment for crude purchase to Nigeria.

The International Committee of the Red Cross on Sunday clarified that its activities did not include negotiation for the release of hostages taken by terrorists.
The International President of the ICRC, Peter Maurer, said this in Lagos against the background of media reports that the ICRC was involved in the negotiation that led to last Thursday’s release of 21 out of over 200 Chibok girls abducted by the Boko Haram sect.
Maurer said though the girls were released to the ICRC by the Boko Haram sect to hand them over to the Federal Government, negotiation for release of hostages was not part of the ICRC’s activities.

FIRS shutdown cement, engineering firms over tax evasion
Federal Inland Revenue Service enforcement team from Abuja stormed Rivers State on Monday and sealed off Lafarge in Onne and IGPES in Port Harcourt for alleged tax evasion.
While the cement company was sealed for allegedly failing to pay over N10m in taxes; IGPES, an engineering firm, was shut for allegedly evading tax to the tune N1.2bn.
Speaking shortly after sealing off the two companies, the leader of the FIRS team, Mrs. Ruth Mandeun, warned their managements to pay the outstanding taxes to allow for the reopening of the firms.

Managing an economy in recession is a difficult task but also presents challenges that are surmountable, the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has said.
