Fellow Nigerians, please forget the shakara of all men who try to act macho, most men are ultimately controlled by their wives, and sometimes girlfriends. Right from the Biblical Genesis, women had always known their enormous power and they’ve mastered how to use it. It does not matter if you are a king or a President, your wife is always your boss. You may be as big as an elephant outside but you are only a small rat at home. I always say this to my wife “how come a man can never be a superstar at home?” I am yet to find an answer to that conundrum.

Chinda said some unrepentant cultists in Ogba/Egbeme/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state were frustrating the amnesty programme.

Extension of JAMB validity result to 3 years dangerous – Scholar


Dr Oluyombo Onafowokan, an Associate Professor, said on Saturday that the directive by the Senate that JAMB should extend the validity of its results to three years will have negative effect on the nation’s standard of education.

Onafowokan, a Senior Lecturer, School of Management & Social Sciences, Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, made the observation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sango-Ota, Ogun.

He explained that such policy would make students lackadaisical and unserious.

Armed Men abducts American aid worker in Niger


An American aid worker has been kidnapped in a town northeast of Niger’s capital Niamey, before being taken by his abductors to Mali, according to a security source.

Armed men raided the house of the aid worker on Friday, killing his two guards before driving him off across the desert, the mayor of the town of Abalak said on Saturday.
“First they came on a motorbike and killed the guards,” the mayor told Reuters news agency by phone. “Then a 4×4 came and took him away and drove towards the Mali border.”

Expert says Biting fingernails may result to whitlow


A medical expert, Dr Festus Olalekan, has warned Nigerians against biting their finger nails, saying it could result in skin infection, especially whitlow.

Olalekan, who works with Graceland Hospital, Ilorin, on Saturday said that biting of nails had remained a common practice among people who do not realise the health implications.

He said that the finger nail is an ideal location for bacteria to grow and it can easily get transferred to the mouth and other parts of the body.

Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, Acting Director Army Public Relations, in a statement, said the suicide bomber was spotted by a vigilant duty sentry while attempting to infiltrate troops along Madagali-Limankara road.

Gynaecologist cautions against using tampons for menstrual cycle

Dr Kike Adesina of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital has warned women not to use tampons for menstrual cycle as it portends danger to them.

Adesina of the Department of Gynaecology of UITH told the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday that tampons could pose danger to women’s health.
“Tampons in themselves are not safe due to the impact on vaginal health and hygiene.
“Women sometimes forget tampons in their body and this can serve as reservoir of infections,”. she said.
