Patience Jonathan to drag EFCC to West African Court


According to reports, Patience Jonathan has concluded plans to drag the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to the African Commission of Human and Peoples Right in Gambia.

Sources close to the legal team said they took the decision to seek legal redress in a court free from manipulation.

Already a new group, The Rebranded Indigenous People of Biafra (TRIPOB) has thrown its weight behind the decision to drag the EFCC before the African Commission of Human and Peopless Right over its case Mrs Jonathan.

Reactions have continued to trail the recent call by the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinunbu that the national chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun should resign for allegedly betraying the trust on him.

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, the member representing Mushin 11 Federal Constituency of Lagos State on the platform of APC, Bolaji Yusuf Ayinla said that what the party required as the national chairman to steer the ship of the party was a transparent and honest person. The authorities of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin has expelled five students for committing various offences contrary to their matriculation oath.

The Assistant Registrar (Academic Affairs), Mr AbdulRahman Muhammad, in a statement in Ilorin on Monday, explained that their expulsion was sequel to the approval of the report of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee and in accordance with Section 14.2 of the Students Regulations.

Borno State Governor calls Boko Haram fighters ‘merchants’ of fear


Following recent attacks by Boko Haram insurgents in Borno, the state governor, Kashim Shettima , on Monday described members of the terror group as “merchants of fear” who are bent on instilling more fears into the people and their communities in the state and the Northeast region generally.

He stated this during an interactive session with journalists in Bama.

Drake's Views jumps back to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, rising 2-1, and notches its 13 nonconsecutive week in the penthouse. Views' return to No. 1 - after a seven-week break from the top slot - is the longest gap between weeks at No. 1 for an album in over three years.

Views earned 53,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Sept. 22, according to Nielsen Music.

The Backstreet Boys gave fans a sneak peeks at what their Las Vegas residency will look like when they took the stage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival for a surprise performance on Saturday.

The boy band rocked the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, performing some of their biggest hits from the last two decades in an unannounced appearance that sent fans into a frenzy.

West Ham boss, Slaven Bilic yet to name baby girl due to club duties


West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has revealed he has not got around to naming his newborn daughter due to his managerial duties.

Bilic’s wife, Ivana gave birth to their second child on Tuesday after hours before West Ham beat Accrington Stanley in the EFL Cup but the Hammers boss has been pre-occupied sorting out West Ham who may find themselves at the bottom of the Premier League if they lose to Southampton.


He said: I adore my kids but it’s very strange because I had a baby a couple of days ago and I’m totally, totally about football.

Niger Delta youths plead with Avengers to stop bombing pipelines


As the Niger Delta Avengers called off their ceasefire and blew up an oil pipeline in Bonny, Rivers State, some youth leaders in the region have begged the group and other militants to stop further attacks.

Addressing reporters after a combined security meeting with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday in Benin, Raji explained that the two drones will be deployed in each of the three senatorial districts and six gunboats for the riverine areas.

Raji disclosed that no military personnel would be found at either the voting or collation centres but they would cordon off adjoining routes to the polling units to prevent those that may want to cause havoc.

Borno Government Says It Requires N30 Billion To Reconstruct Bama


The Borno State Government said on Monday that it required about N30 billion for the reconstruction of structures damaged by Boko Haram insurgents in Bama.

The Commissioner of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement, Dr Babagana Umara, stated this while speaking with newsmen in Bama Local Government Area of the state.

Umara explained that more than 10,000 private houses were destroyed by insurgents in the town.

The prices of food items in Bauchi State have continued to crash after months of high food prices.

Reports reveal that the prices of food items have dropped by 50% in the state.

A bag of maize which few months ago was going for N18,000 now sells for N9,000 while local rice that used to cost N35,000 is now being sold at N20,000, a grain seller at Muda Lawal Market, Bauchi, Malam Adamu Kafin Maigari said.
