Lagos State | SARS Police kill undergraduate while pursuing Internet fraudster (Photo)


Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad shot dead an undergraduate of a polytechnic in Edo State, Eldanojie Joseph. The tragic incident happened at Ogoja Market, LASU-Igando Road, Lagos State.

The 20-year-old business administration student was said to be on a visit to his cousin, Friday Ojah, who lived on Alape Street, Iba Ojo, when he was hit by a stray bullet.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the operatives were chasing a suspected Internet fraudster, identified as Badoo, who had parked his car and fled upon sighting the officers.

A baby born with 15 fingers and 16 toes is set to undergo a number of corrective surgeries. The eight-month-old boy has 31 digits - but no thumbs on either palm .

He was born to migrant workers in the the village of Zhongping in China's southern Hunan province.

He seemed to have inherited the condition known as polydactyly as his mother has one extra finger on each hand.

Police warns IPOB: We won’t allow you break down law and order


The Rivers and Anambra states commands of the Nigeria Police Force have warned the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to stop plans of carrying out their protest scheduled for September 23 (today).

IPOB had planned to protest the continuous detention of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu and has called for restricted movement throughout the S/South and S/East.

In a statement by the Anambra State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Nkeiruka Nwode, the police warned the group to retrace its steps and cancel the protest.

Enugu State | IPOB narrates their ordeal in Police custody after release


The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) members who were arrested by police officials in Enugu on Monday, September 19, has been released. 

The IPOB in a statement on Thursday said the release of its 12 members was secured by the group’s team of lawyers. 

The members were said to have been arrested during a sensitization rally at the Ogebte main market in Enugu, Enugu state. 

Ijaw Youth Council brands EFCC’s persecution of Jonathan’s family as witch-hunt


The Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide (IYC) on Thursday said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was witch hunting while claiming to be persecuting ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and his family.

The President of IYC, Udengs Eradiri said the EFCC should follow due process in its investigation while speaking at a news conference in Bayelsa State.

A young man identified simply as Linus, from Phase 1 area of Police barrack in Gwagwalada, Abuja, was a few hours ago, apprehended for stealing his neighbour's goat.

The suspect who reportedly killed the goat and attempted to sell it at a nearby abattoir was caught and paraded with the dead goat and made to pay N5,000 in compensation to the owner.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has declined to annul the election of Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson. ‎The court in a judgment delivered today declined the appeal for annulment of Seriake's election which was filed by the former governor of the state and APC candidate during the state election, Timipre Sylva. The election held on December 5th, 2015 while a rerun held on January 9th this year.
