Jackie Chan bags Honorary Oscar Award

Action movie star, writer, stuntman, director and martial artist, Jackie Chan, is to be given an honorary Oscar for his “extraordinary achievements” in film.

Chan, 62, the Hong Kong-born star of Hollywood movies such as “Drunken Master“, “The Karate Kid” and the “Rush Hour” franchise, will join documentary maker Frederick Wiseman, British film editor Anne V. Coates and casting director Lynn Stalmaster as recipients.

According to the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASDRA), the annular eclipse was expected to be experienced by Nigerians today, 1st September 2016.

Prof. Babatunde Rabiu, Director, Centre for Atmospheric Research, Anyigba, Kogi, said various cities across the country would experience different degrees of the obscurity of the Sun during annular eclipse on Thursday.

Rabiu made this known on Wednesday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

He said a large annular eclipse would cover 97 percent of the Sun; it will last 3 minutes and 6 seconds at the point of a maximum eclipse in East Africa and then to other parts of the world.
