Iyke Igbokwe calls for Pinnick’s resignation says Nigeria’s football is doomed


Former vice-chairman of the NFF’s disciplinary committee, Iyke Igbokwe, has called on Amaju Pinnick to resign as president of the federation.

Igbokwe also labelled Pinnick as “the worst disaster” to have happened to Nigeria’s football.
“Pinnick is the worst disaster to have inflicted Nigerian football,” He told AfricanFootball.com

United Nations to probe diversion of humanitarian funds in Northeast, Nigeria


United Nations yesterday said it would investigate alleged diversion of aids for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and other victims of terrorism in Nigeria’s Northeast.

United Nations Assistant Secretary-General and Regional Humanitarian Coordinator for the Sahel, Mr. Toby Lanzer, gave the assurance during an interaction with newsmen in Abuja following his recent visit to some communities in Borno State.

Responding to the question of alleged diversion of funds meant for the North East, Lanzer stated that the body would commence investigation the moment it established cases of diversion.

He appears calm as the doctor examines him but this could be due to shock. It is not clear if he will suffer any permanent damage from the nasty accident.

Governor Shettima visits IDPs in Bama to sensitise them


Borno state Governor Hon. Kashim Shettima called on IDPs in Bama to regularly immunise their children against Poliomyelitis because the virus has resurfaced in the state.

The Governor made called on Friday, August 19th, while in Bama on a sensitization visit where he assured the people that arrangements were concluded between the Military and the state government to supply polio vaccine to remote areas of the state.

DSS arrest Boko Haram Spiritual Leader, Kidnapping Gangs and others


The Department of State Services (DSS) says it has arrested the “spiritual leader at a Boko Haram cell in Kano”, as well as other insurgents plotting to carry out attacks in some states.

The Chief Imam of Uthman bn Affan Mosque, Malam Abubakar Yusuf, gave the advice on Monday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin.

In an interview with journalists on Monday, the local education committee chairman in his constituency, Alhaji Sani Sarki, made this disclosure.
