Borno State | 6 Killed, 13 Abducted in Fresh Boko Haram Attack

Boko Haram insurgents on Saturday morning, attacked a village, Kuburubu, in Damboa local government area of Borno State, killing six persons and abducting about 13 others, Punch reports.

A member of the youth vigilante group, Civilian JTF who spoke anonymously, told our correspondent on phone that attackers rode on four motorcycles to the village at about 5 am when the villages were still asleep.

Delta State Monarch decries deplorable state of road

The Paramount Ruler of Adonte Community in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta, Chirf Emmanuel Offor, has decried the deplorable condition of the access road to the community.

Offor told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Adonte, Delta, on Sunday that the current condition of the link road to the community had caused much suffering to the people.

The monarch appealed to the state government to arrest the erosion menace in the area which was gradually cutting off the community from other parts of the state.

Police AIG request case files of man who named dog Buhari

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Zone II Command Headquarters in Lagos, Abdulmajid Ali, had called for the transfer of the case file of a man alleged to have named his dog ‘Buhari.’

Ali said the case should be transferred to his desk without delay.

“For now, the AIG Zone II has called for a meeting that we want to call the parties involved in the matter to see how the matter could be resolved,” Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told Premium Times.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele, has been elected as the President of the Association of African Central Banks (AACB).

Mr Emefiele was elected at the 39th ordinary meeting of the Assembly of Governors of the AACB in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

He succeeds Mr Lucas Nchama who is now the Governor of the Bank Of Central African States.

Mr Emefiele would be President of the AACB from 2016 to 2017.
