Police set to arraign suspects today, policemen dismissed from service for torturing & dehumanizing Uzoamaka


The Ebonyi State Police Command is set to arraign the suspects indicted for the abduction, stripping, torture and dehumanization of 15-year-old orphan, Uzoamaka 

According to Hon. Linus Abaa Okorie, who disclosed the development, reliable sources confirm that the arraignment of the suspects is scheduled to take place at the Obiozara magistrate court in Ohaozara LGA of Ebonyi state. While the specific charges against the suspects are yet unclear, sources point at abduction and torture as being high on the list.

South Africans across the country, the social media, the community of Jan Kempdorp and the Northern Cape on Monday August 15th, joined the family of six-year-old Kutlwano Garesape in mourning the brutal death of the young hero.

According to local media, Kutlwano and his mother were walking to school at Jan Kempdorp in the northern Cape when they were attacked on Friday. The child was stabbed repeatedly with a broken bottle by an assailant identified as Tefelo Dikole‚ 32‚ who has already appeared in the Jan Kempdorp Magistrate’s Court.

A sympathetic and kindhearted Ohio Police police officer Steve Dunham, from Franklin Police Department has told about how he fed a seven-year-old boy he found wandering the streets trying to sell his teddy bear to buy food so he can eat.

According to Officer Steve Dunham, he was responding to reports of a boy seen walking alone when he found the child and was touched to take the boy out for lunch.

Officer Dunham told WLWT5: “He told me he was trying to sell his stuffed animal to get money for food because he hadn’t eaten in several days.”

The PRO of the Nigerian Police Force, DCP Donald Amunah has defended the sealing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) convention venue in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, today. Speaking as a guest on Channels TV Sunrise Daily, he said;
"The Police is an institution established by law and we obey the court orders and rule of law. In an event of conflicting court orders, what do you do? We are neutral. The IG has been served court orders in Abuja and so we have to obey the orders. If this court order has to be obeyed, what do we do about the venue? We take control of the venue to avoid two worrying parties conflicting, to protect lives and properties.”

An annular eclipse that will be visible all over the country, with different degrees of totality, will occur on Thursday, September 1.

Kenya bans weddings at Night in Mombasa after robberies


Night weddings have been banned in Kenya’s coastal region of Mombasa as the authorities say they have become a target for criminals.

The county’s commissioner said the decision was taken after an increase in attacks by knife-wielding gangs.

Wedding ceremonies in Mombasa can last for as long as five days and include parties that go on late into the night.
