Super Eagles legend Jay Jay Okocha has warned the Olympics team that they shouldn't expect to get rich by playing for Nigeria but should rather focus on impacting on lives of people.

Okocha, who clocked 43 years on Sunday, has now told the latest edition of the Dream Team they should rather be proud they are representing Nigeria than hope to make money doing so.

President of Kyrgyzstan, Almazbek Sharshenovich Atambayev who has tried in the past to dissuade women in the country from dressing in hijabs, niqabs and burkas has said that women that do Islamic dressing are more prone to radicalization by Islamic terrorists than women who wear mini-skirts.

According to the 59 year old Atambayev, who has been the President of Kyrgyzstan since December 2011, terrorists are insane people and that even clothing can change one's thinking process.  Atambayev also said that he'll prefer his country's women to wear mini skirts rather than dress up the Islamic way.

Ex Man City Footballer dies after being tasered by police


Former Aston Villa striker Dalian Atkinson has died after being tasered by police in Telford, Shropshire. The 48-year-old died 90 minutes after he was hit by a stun gun on Monday morning August 15, at around 1.30am in the Trench area of Telford, Shropshire, UK.

West Mercia Police can confirm that officers responded to a report for the concern for the safety of an individual at approximately 1.30am this morning at an address in Telford," the force said in a statement.

MEND says IPOB’s Kanu accepted to renounce Biafra in secret


The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger-Delta, MEND, today, took the the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, to the cleaners, saying he agreed in secret to renounce ‘Biafra’ in exchange for freedom, only to act hypocritically in public after sealing discussion with MEND on the matter.

Spokesperson of MEND, Jomo Gbomo, in a vitriolic statement, said: “The attention of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has been drawn to the recent spate of hypocritical and provocative statements issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu,”

Woman bags 10 years sentence for kidnapping newborn baby


A South African court Monday handed down a 10-year prison term to a woman who kidnapped a newborn baby from her sleeping mother in hospital 19 years ago, local media reported.

In passing the sentence, a judge in the High Court in Cape Town emphasised the seriousness of the crime by the 52-year-old woman, News24 said.

The kidnapping victim, who her family named Zephany Nurse, was taken from a maternity ward at Groote Schuur Hospital in 1997. Her kidnapper raised her as her own.

Group tells Federal Govt to Extradite and Prosecute Ahmed Salkida


The Coalition Against Terrorism and Extremism  (CATE) has accused a journalist, Ahmed Salkida of over stepping his journalistic privileges and turning himself into a sympathizer and propaganda tool for the terrorists Boko Haram group.

The group therefore urged the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice to immediately charge Ahmad Salkida to court under the Terrorism (Prevention) (Amendment) Act, 2013 even if it is in abstentia.

Addressing a journalists in Abuja, national cordinator of CATE, Gabriel Onoja said the Federal Government must then on the strength of the charges to be filed against Salkida apply for his extradition by the United Arab Emirates.
