Two Police Officers attacked with a machete by man yelling ‘Allahu akbar’ in Belgium


Two female police officers were attacked in front of the police station in the city of Charleroi in Belgium, this afternoon by a man shouting ‘allahu akbar’.

One is believed to be seriously injured with wounds to her face. A source said: “She was rushed to hospital and is in a particularly bad way.”

Unknown Gunmen Kidnap two Chinese Nationality in Nasarawa


The police in Nasarawa say two Chinese attached to West African Polaris Investment have been kidnapped in Agada village, Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state. 

Police Public Relations Officer Ismail Noman said on Saturday in Lafia that, XJieng AI Jung, 50 and Wenso Ping, 45, were ambushed by unknown gunmen at about 2.28p.m. on the their way to Abuja. 

He said that although the gunmen, wielding sophisticated weapons, were still at large, the police had begun investigation to track them.

There was was pure confusion recently at the Delta State Government House Annex in Warri after a man identified as a driver was shot dead. The driver was shot on by suspected armed robbers.

According to unconfirmed reports Trezzy Blog, members and security forces of the Delta State Waterways/Land Security Committee were in the middle of a meeting on Thursday at the Government house in Warri, when the committee chairman, Mr Boro Putu, instructed his driver to go cash some money from the bank.

According to a report on Idoma Voice, the young man stoned to death by two men in Makurdi.

The incident reportedly took place on Thursday by 6pm

Abia State Governor's wife builds houses for widows


The wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, said she would not relent in her passion for the welfare indigent women in the state.

Mrs Ikpeazu stated this while presenting keys of a furnished two-bedroom bungalows to two indigent widows in Ohuhu and Amuzukwu communities both in Umuahia North LGAs of Abia State.

The two bungalows bring the number of houses built by Mrs Ikpeazu for indigent women across the state to 12.

South Africa’s ruling African National Congress (ANC) suffered a historic defeat in the nation’s capital to the opposition Democratic Alliance (DA) in local elections, the electoral commission said Saturday.

In Tshwane, the metropolitan area that includes Pretoria, DA won 43 percent of the vote over the ANC’s 41 percent, according to final results in the elections that have underlined the declining popularity of the party that led the anti-apartheid struggle.

Kerosene now sells for N150 per litre from NNPC depots - NUPENG


The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) says the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has fixed N150 per litre as the official depot price of kerosene.

Alhaji Tokunbo Korodo, the South-West Chairman of the union, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Saturday. 

According to him, the price will encourage more importation of the product by the marketers. He said that most of the filling stations selling kerosene between N200 and N220 as the pump price was as a result of additional money on transportation of the product and some other levies paid by marketers. 

We are not aware of plan to retrench in NPA - Senior Staff, Adegbeyemi


The Senior Staff Association of the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) says it is not aware of any plan by the authority to retrench workers.

The president of the association, Mr Benson Adegbeyeni said this on Saturday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

He said the management of NPA had not briefed the association on matters in involving retrenchment of workers.

CAN President says Nigerian Christians under siege


National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Rev. Supo Ayokunle says Nigerian Christians are under siege.

Ayokunle, who spoke last night at the Reedemed Christian Church of God’s (RCCG’s) Convention at the Redemption Ground, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, said incessant attack on Christians in the country by terrorists and others had made them to be under siege.

He said there had never been a time Nigerian Christians were under siege than now and called on Christians to pray for the survival of Christianity in the country.
