According to reports by RedPepper Uganda, Nigerian Singer, Patrick Nnaemeka Okoriebetter known by his stage name 'Patoranking', was Yesterday afternoon arrested at Entebbe International Airport for failure to adhere to check in rules. “He failed to adhere to check-in rules and above all he had not secured his entry visa,” said the source who was at the Airport yesterday.

A Kenyan woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her husband to death for arriving home late and drunk.

Ann Mbaithe (pictured left) was accused of stabbing her husband, Daniel Githuka, 30, in the chest and killing him, after he returned home in the early hours of Saturday, July 30 in Tinganga village, Kiambu town.

The deceased's mother Elizabeth Wanjiku said he worked at a neighbouring school and usually returned at about 10pm. She said the couple had been married for five years and had no problems. The had one child aged four and a half.

MTO reports that 25 year-old Sean A. Flowers Jr. was taken into custody on Saturday after he reportedly held his son underwater, in what police say was a deliberate murder. There were witnesses to the killing who told police exactly what happened.

The Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, led by Ahmed Makarfi, on Tuesday, publish the list of members that constitute the party’s National Convention Committee.

Despite a court ruling which declared the Caretaker Committee illegal, the Makarfi- led faction of the party reiterated that it will go ahead with its national convention slated for August 17 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Makarfi – led faction in a statement by its secretary, Sen Ben Obi, said the August 17 national convention of the party will hold as slated.

A woman, Mrs. Adiza Umoru, was arrested for using rented twins to beg on the streets of Lagos. Umoru’s arrest came barely a week after three women were arrested by the officials of the state Ministry of Youth and Social Development for using rented babies to beg for alms. This was as the Commissioner for Youth and social Development , Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, yesterday urged the residents to stop giving alms to beggars especially those with babies, so as to discourage the begging. Nigeria armed Forces and other security operatives have smashed the defence of the bloodthirsty vandals at Arepo to destroy their strongholds. after a five days severe aerial attack by the Nigerian Airforce.

Findings have revealed that the Special Boat Service of the Nigerian Navy undertook the ground assault against the vandals by 3pm on Tuesday.

A Dutch man who flew to China to meet a woman he met online has had to be treated in hospital for exhaustion after waiting at the airport for 10 days. Alexander Peter Cirk, 41, refused to leave Changsha Huanghua International airport in Hunan after his online girlfriend, known as Zhang, failed to turn up.

Mr. Cirk was eventually taken to the hospital suffering from physical exhaustion, according to Hunan TV. He told the channel he had met Ms. Zhang through a messaging app two months before and that they had planned for him to visit her.

Six days after the Nigerian military intensified its fight against militants and pipeline vandals within Arepo and Ikorodu, the ground forces yesterday successfully penetrated the Ishawo creeks, destroying several camps.

Gun men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have invaded three villages in Jema'a local government area of Kaduna State killing eleven people and injuring many others, including women.

Eyewitnesses reported that Gida Biyu, Akwa’a and Anguwan Anjo villages were attacked by the invaders who set several houses on fire in the process.

The incident took place around 6am on Monday, setting several houses ablaze and leaving six men and three women dead. Two other men were slain in Angwam Anjo.
