The body of a notorious kingpin identified as one Papa Morino Monday, was found along Parliamentary Extension Calabar, Cross River State.

The body reportedly had machete cuts and stab wounds. His legs were tied with ropes and around his neck hung car tyres which seem to indicate that he was set ablaze.

According to Cross River Watch, Morino was until his death, a member of a dreaded armed robbery gang that has been terrorizing the neighborhood for a long time.

Police in Katsina confirmed that Bello was abducted alongside his aide at Goburawa village, Birnin Gwari area of Kaduna State on his way to the farm. The deceased's mother Elizabeth Wanjiku said he worked at a neighbouring school and usually returned at about 10pm. She said the couple had been married for five years and had no problems. The had one child aged four and a half.

Eyewitnesses reported that Gida Biyu, Akwa’a and Anguwan Anjo villages were attacked by the invaders who set several houses on fire in the process.

The incident took place around 6am on Monday, setting several houses ablaze and leaving six men and three women dead. Two other men were slain in Angwam Anjo.
