The Delta State Police Command has confirmed that a man chopped off the hand of a member of his extended family over land dispute.

The suspect, Mr Jude Boroh, had allegedly attacked Morgan Ekure, a civil servant with the Delta State government, with a cutlass.

The spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, SP Celestina Kalu confirmed the incident which happened in Emevor, Isoko North Local Government Area of the state.

A 34-year-old Kenyan man allegedly chopped off the hands of his wife of seven years with a large knife because she cannot have children, in what is said to be the most atrocious cases of domestic violence.

28-year-old Jackline Mwende from Kathama Village, Masii in Machakos County, had her hands chopped off at the wrist by her husband, Stephen Ngila Thenge (right) on July 24. 

She is also nursing injuries on her head and neck from the gruesome attack. Relatives say the couple had been having issues and Ms Mwende wanted to leave her husband but was advised against it by "their pastor"

28-year-old Man Docked For Defiling Minor In A Mosque

A 28-year-old man, Modiu Diallo, who allegedly defiled a 7-year-old girl in a mosque was on Monday arraigned in a Surulere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.

The accused with no fixed address is facing a three-count charge bordering on r*pe.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Anthonia Osayande, told the court that the accused committed the offence at about 6:00a.m., on July 13, at Iponri Central Mosque, Surulere, Lagos.

In a press statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the Unit, Onuigbo Ifeoma, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Haruna Mamudu said that the items which were cleverly and deceitfully concealed in a Scania truck with an inscription ‘DHL’ were seized on the Benin axis in Edo State. Three suspects were also arrested in connection with the illegal business.
