Speaking during an interview session with PUNCH, Dr. Junaid said, ''Let me say straight away that whether one calls it a cabal or a mafia or some kind of cult or whatever, there is a group of people who are wielding power within the Presidency under Buhari. Whatever you say it is; it is and a lot worse. First, the most influential person in the Presidency today is one Mamman Daura whom as you know, is a nephew of the President. His father was Buhari’s elder brother. In addition, Mamman Daura was the one who single-handedly brought up Abba Kyari, the current Chief of Staff to the President.

Fire destroys Property worth Millions In Sokoto Market

A popular market in Sokoto locally known as Kasuwa Dan-Jabalu was, Sunday night, gutted by fire which destroyed goods and properties worth millions of naira at the old market in Sokoto.

According to NAN reports, the fire started about 10.00pm and lasted for about three hours before it was put off by combined efforts of firemen, traders and Good Samaritans, including Gov. Aminu Tambuwal.

Minister of Sports summons AFN, FEAD staff over ticket scandal

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has summoned the Secretary, Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Olumide Bamiduro, to explain the ticket scandal that rocked the social media at the weekend.

A statement by the minster’s Special Adviser on Media, Nneka Anibeze, said on Sunday in Lagos that the ministry’s staff of the Federation of Elite Athletes Department (FEAD) was also summoned.

It will be recalled that a mail purportedly written by the AFN secretary had asked athletes to send an estimate of what their ticket to Rio may cost.

BREAKING | Shooting in Florida: 2 Dead, at Least 14 Others Wounded

At least two people were killed and more than a dozen others injured in a shooting outside of a Florida nightclub early Monday, officials said.

According to NBC News, the gunshots were fired in the parking lot of Club Blu in Fort Myers at around 12:30 a.m. ET.

Fort Myers Police Department said in a statement that "at least 14-16 people" were wounded in the shooting, with their injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening. NBC station WBBH reported that both of those killed were male.
