INEC Finally Reveal Why They Issued Certificate of Return to Uche Ogah

The Independent National Electoral Commission has given reason why it had to immediately issue certificate of return to Uche Ogah as the substantive Governor of Abia State. 

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has given reasons why it issued a Certificate of Return to Mr Uche Ogah who came second at the last Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries in Abia State. 

Explaining the reason behind its action, INEC National Commissioner in charge of the South East, Amb. Lawrence Nwuruku said the commission only bowed to the lawful order of a court.

Chelsea FC release Pato, Falcao and Amelia

Alexandre Pato, Radamel Falcao and Marco Amelia have all left Chelsea, the club have confirmed.

Pato and Falcao depart following the expiration of their loan deals from Corinthians and Monaco respectively.

The Brazilian made just two appearances for Chelsea after joining in January, scoring his only goal from the penalty spot in the 4-0 win over Aston Villa in April.

Pato's agent, Gilmar Veloz, this week claimed Chelsea had the option to sign his client on a four-year deal.

Transfer News: Nolito complete move to Manchester City from Celta Vigo

Pep Guardiola has made Nolito his second major signing as Manchester City coach, with the Spain forward joining from Celta Vigo for around £14m.

The 29-year-old has agreed a four-year deal, having previously worked under Guardiola at Barcelona, between 2008-9, with City understood to have triggered an €18m release clause

Obama to quickly move to the rescue of Puerto Rico major debt payment

As Puerto Rico faces a major debt payment, President Barack Obama is vowing to move quickly to sign a last-minute rescue package for the financially-strapped U.S. territory and its 3.5 million Americans.

In a rare election-year feat, the White House-backed legislation passed with strong bipartisan support in Congress. The Senate voted 68-30 for the legislation on Wednesday, three weeks after the House approved the measure.

United States Military lifts ban on Transgender Personnel

Defense Secretary Ashton Carter on Thursday lifted the ban on transgender personnel from openly serving in the US military.

"This is the right thing to do for our people and for the force," Carter said in a statement.

"We're talking about talented Americans who are serving with distinction or who want the opportunity to serve. We can't allow barriers unrelated to a person's qualifications prevent us from recruiting and retaining those who can best accomplish the mission."

The former President who stated this in separate messages of condolence to the families of the deceased emphasised that both men made significant contributions to Nigeria’s growth and development. Turkish official says Istanbul Airport suspected ISIS bombers were Uzbek, Russian, Kyrgyz

Three suspected Islamic State (ISIS) suicide bombers who killed 43 people in a gun and bomb attack at Istanbul's main airport this week were Russian, Uzbek and Kyrgyz nationals, a Turkish government official said on Thursday June 30.

The suicide bombers opened fire to create panic outside, before two of them got inside the terminal building and blew themselves up. The third detonated his explosives at the entrance. At least 239 people were wounded in the attack.

According to Reuters, the Turkey official who confirmed the terrorists' nationalities, declined to be named because details of the investigation have not yet been released. Forensics teams had been struggling to identify the bombers from their limited remains, officials said earlier.

Shocking video which emerged on Tuesday morning shows three apparently drunk youths shouting hurling racial abuse and shouting at a man to "Get back to Africa' on a tram in Manchester.

According to Manchester Evening News, the man, who spoke with a foreign accent had asked the young men to stop using bad language as they were frightening other passengers.

The youths responded by hurling abuses at the man, telling his to "get back to Africa," Get off the tram now. Bro, I 'll waste you. I 'll waste anyone and Dont chat sh*t when you are not even from England, you little f***king immigrant"

The man, whose nationality was not mentioned, asked how old the youth is, "18,19? I 've been here longer than you".

Policeman & Pastor nab for armed robbery also confesses to supplying arms to robbery gangs

A police corporal who was recently arrested for armed robbery, confessed to having supplied arms and ammunition to robbery gangs in various states, including Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Delta and Bayelsa states. 

Christ Oboko Onitsha Ugbo, was arrested after he allegedly led his gang on a series of robbery operations in some states in the Niger Delta region. He is currently being detained by the Inspector General of Police’s Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT)

According to Daily Trust, the 36-year-old, until his arrest was attached to a special squad code named C4I of the Rivers State Police Command and was also the resident pastor of a church at Choba, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
