Michele Obama and her daughters were joined by actress, Meryl Streep as they joined other members of the Moroccan royal family for a traditional Moroccan iftar, a dinner to break the fast during the holy Muslim month of Ramadan at King's Palace in Marrakesh. 

The first lady is on the second leg of a six-day trip to Liberia, Morocco and Spain to promote education for girls. In Morocco, only 36 percent of girls continue school beyond the primary level.

There is nothing that you won't see this days. So there is cafe offering its customers oral sex and coffee which is set to be open in Geneva by the end of this year. Ali Modu Sherif says He can’t be PDP Chairman at all cost


The factional National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ali Modu Sheriff, has said he is ready to vacate his office only if the party’s leadership ask him to leave.

Sheriff’s comment follows the leadership crises currently rocking the opposition party after PDP claimed that the tenure of the factional leader had elapsed.

Heartless! Woman burns Nephew Genitals for allegedly Stealing N100


A woman identified only as Saratu was Tuesday arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly burning the private parts of her nephew, Razak Qudus, with a stove after he was accused of stealing N100.

The Punch reports that the 7-year-old victim, who is a primary four pupil in a private school, lived with the suspect in the Afariogun, Oshodi area of the state.

Why President Buhari ordered the arrest of one of his biggest ally


An ally of President Muhammed Buhari and a key member of the presidential panel investigating the looting of funds meant for the purchase of weapons, Mohammed Umar, has been arrested on the orders of the President.

According to Premium Times, the President ordered his arrest after he received reports that Umar, who is a retired Air Commodore, was involved in alleged money laundering and illegal possession of firearms.

According to sources in the Presidency, Umar, who was arrested last week by the State Security Service (SSS), ran a blackmail and extortion cartel.

APC turns to Ex EFCC Boss for help on war against corruption


The All Progressives Congress has revealed that efforts are being made to return former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to the ranks of the ruling party to assist in the war against corruption.

This was made known by the National President of the APC National Coalition for Peace and Mobilisation, Ahmed Saleh during the group’s National Executive Council meeting held at the APC Presidential Campaign Office in Abuja on Tuesday.

Saleh explained that the reason the party was reaching out to Ribadu to return is in line with a directive from the leadership of the party to consult and sensitise members and non-members alike in a bid to restore unity to the ranks and file of the party.

The Conference of Nigerian Civil Rights Activists (CNCRA) has described the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai as “a square peg in a round hole” over his ownership of two properties in Dubai.

The CNCRA, in a statement released by its Convener, Ifeanyi Odili, in Abuja on Tuesday, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately deal with Buratai before the recent revelation of his Dubai properties kills the credibility of the anti-corruption war of the current administration.

According to the group, unless Buratai is relieved of his duties as Army boss, the corruption fight of the current administration would always be in doubt.

New Militant Group vows to attack Imo state govt, oil companies


A new militant group, the Niger Delta Red Squad (NDRS), which has carried out attacks on oil facilities in Imo state, has threatened to unleash more attacks in the future. 

In the current threat by the group, signed by one General Don Wannie, the militants threatened to attack some government and oil facilities in Imo state. 

According to Vanguard, the group fumed that oil producing communities have nothing to show for the many years of oil exploration and exploitation. 

United Nations grant N3.7bn to IDPs in North-East


About 250,000 Internally Displaced Persons in the North-East of Nigeria have received about N3.7bn ($13m) as life-saving support from the United Nations Humanitarian Chief, Mr. Stephen O’Brien. 

According to News Agency of Nigeria the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, who announced this in a statement, said that the money was released the by the Central Emergency Response Fund. 
“The United Nations humanitarian chief, Stephen O’Brien, has released $13m from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), to provide life-saving assistance to 250,000 people in parts of theNorth-East of Nigeria. 
“The destruction of crops and looting of livestock have left many people unable to support their families.

The train which will provide swifter travel from Abuja to Kaduna has already been tested by Minister of transport Rotimi Ameachi.

Michelle Obama and Her daughters Meet Liberian School Girls


The US first lady, Michelle Obama, has visited a leadership camp for girls in Liberia where she urged teenagers in one of the world’s poorest countries to keep fighting to stay in school.

With her own teenage daughters joining her, Obama told the girls she was “just so thrilled to be here with you”.
“I’m here to shine a big bright light on you,” she said.
Michelle Obama has told girls in Liberia to fight to stay in school, as she visited the west African country where the vast majority drops out due to financial pressures.
