Kevin Hart says ‘He is turning into Morgan Freeman’ at age 36


American actor and comedian Kevin Hart who turns 37 on July 6 has spoken about life at 36. The ‘Get Hard’ star told Entertainment Tonight: 
‘I’m turning into Morgan Freeman (79). I don’t know what’s going on. I think my older age is just going straight to my hair … It’s weird because only half of it goes grey, so it’s like I turn into this weird villain that didn’t make it to Marvel.

MCG Empire Boss, MC Galaxy signs Rwandan singer, Neza


Nigerian singer MC Galaxy who launched his record label MCG Empire in 2015 has signed a recording deal with fast rising Rwandan singer Patricia Neza Masozera, otherwise known as ‘Neza‘.

Neza who won the African Entertainment Award in 2012 as the Best Female act is a Rwandan singer based in Canada.

Since signing with MCG Empire, Neza has released her first song ‘My Baby’ produced by Wole Ogundare and featuring MC Galaxy.

Lady Gaga has joined the ranks of Western celebrities who have enraged Chinese fans by meeting with Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama.

Gaga has reportedly been added to a list of hostile foreign forces banned by China’s Communist party after she met with the Dalai Lama to discuss yoga.

The American pop singer met the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader on Sunday before a conference in Indianapolis.

Popular Comedian Maleke Narrowly Escapes Death In Benin


A popular Comedian, Musician and Edo State President, Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, Mr Maleke Idowu Moye narrowly escaped death yesterday when some suspected thugs allegedly attacked him with dangerous weapons and inflicted life-threatening injuries on him in Benin City.

According to reports, Maleke is currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital and he expressed shock at the attack.

Mavin Records and TMC signs new Management Deal

In Anambra: Standard Organisation of Nigeria seals tyre marketing firms


The Standard Organisation of Nigeria has sealed premises of some tyre marketing companies in Awka and Onitsha in Anambra State for distributing suspected substandard tyres.

Head of SON in the state, Mr Samuel Ayuba, who led a team of officers on the operation on Tuesday, said that the raid was part of an effort to check further circulation of substandard tyres in the country.

Ayuba said that the tyres were brought into the country as new and were being sold as such, but explained that the outer layer of the tyres peeled off after covering some distance in journeys.

He said that it was based on reports of such incidents that the organisation decided to carry out an investigation of the complaints.

China Made airplane makes first commercial flight (PHOTO)


China’s homegrown regional jet made its first commercial flight Tuesday, operator Chengdu Airlines said, after years of delays raised questions about the country’s ambitious plans for domestically-produced planes.

Chengdu Airlines flew the ARJ21 from its eponymous home base, the capital of the southwestern province of Sichuan, to the commercial hub Shanghai carrying 70 passengers.

More than half were paying customers who were aware they were flying in a new plane, an airline spokesman told AFP.

The ARJ21 — which stands for Advanced Regional Jet for the 21st Century — will ferry flyers on the Chengdu-Shanghai route three times a week, he added.

The inaugural flight was the culmination of a 14-year programme to make China a commercial aircraft manufacturer capable of competing with dominant foreign players Boeing and Airbus.

Tompolo to Buhari: Learn from Yar’Adua … don’t fight militants


Government Ekpemepulo, ex-militant leader better known as Tompolo, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to learn from the late President Umar Musa Yar’Adua.

Tompolo, who had earlier raised an alarm on the alleged seizure of the “golden crown” of Egbesu, an Ijaw deity, said a similar incident under Yar’Adua led to hostilities, which made the late president declare amnesty for militants.

He alleged that a manhunt for him by the military led to a lot of atrocities in Gbaramatu kingdom.
“Today is exactly 31 days after the invasion of the traditional headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Oporoza town, by your military led by Brig. General Faruk Yahaya of the 4th Brigade, Benin City, in search of me, with the allegation that I am the one behind the bombing and destruction of crude oil facilities in the Niger Delta region, and the incident happened in my absence, but I was informed that the army was on the loose, and committed so much abomination in the community,” he said in an open letter.

Dasuki approve $40 million payment to Jonathan’s cousin’s Company – Witness


A prosecution witness, Ibrahim Mahir, has testified that retired Col. Sambo Dasuki authorised the payment of 40 million dollars in favour of One Plus Holdings.

Mahir made this known when he testified in the case of Azibaola Roberts, cousin to former President Goodluck Jonathan at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday.

He said that Dasuki, a former National Security Adviser (NSA), instructed him to prepare a payment mandate of 40 million dollars in favour of the company.

President Buhari pays a total 638 YouWin Awardees N1.6bn


The federal government has paid N1.6 billion to 638 awardees of the Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria (YouWin) programme, an initiative of the past government.

There have been fears about the government of President Muhammadu Buhari scrapping the programme, with series of protests over the delay in grants.

But Na’inna Dambatta, director of information at the ministry of information, said the money was paid in June.

He said under the programme which took off in 2011, a total of 18, 000 young entrepreneurs were trained in management and business skills for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Lena Dunham blast Kanye West over "Famous Video"


Kanye West has been receiving lots of backlash over "Famous" video featuring a who's who of American celebrities. There's Rihanna, Bill Cosby, Ray-J, Kanye and Kim, Anna Wintour,  Amber Rose, Donald Trump, Caitlyn Jenner and Taylor Swift. Each celebrity poses as a wax figure laying nude in bed in what is supposed to be a recreation of Vincent Desiderio's painting, "Sleep."

It's certainly art as spectacle. But as Dunham pointed out on Facebook, the video's disturbing display of female objectification is deeply sexist.
"Now I have to see the prone, unconscious, waxy bodies of famous women, twisted like they've been drugged and chucked aside at a rager? It gives me such a sickening sense of dis-ease," Dunham writes. 

Man prosecuted for allegedly raping her three daughters


For allegedly raping his three daughters, a 48-year-old man, Micheal Ogbar, on Tuesday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court. 

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, refused to hear his plea and remanded him in kirikiri prisons. 

Elias said the court had no jurisdiction over the case and therefore transferred the matter to Apapa Magistrates’ Court. 

Lecturer caught assaulting a students in Niger state (VIDEO)

Alan Shearer up for England head-coach job after Roy Hodgson resign


Former Newcastle United striker, Alan Shearer believes he has what it takes to replace Roy Hodgson after the 68-year-old resigned following England’s abysmal exit from the Euros on Monday night.

Alan Shearer, who now works as a BBC football pundit, said he once approached the England FA to declare his intention for the job but he was turned down due to his “lack of experience”.
“I went to see the FA about four or five years ago and said I wanted the job,” Shearer told the BBC.”
“They just looked at me and said ‘No, it’s a lack of experience’. I said: ‘well, you’ve hired experience, you pay them an absolute fortune, I could not have done any worse than those guys’.”

First female cab driver in India found dead in her home


Veerath Bharathi, Uber's first female cab driver in India, was found dead in her rented house in the city's northwest suburb, police said on Tuesday, June 28.
"It appears to be a case of suicide, as the victim's (V. Bharathi) body was found hanging by a cloth-like rope from the ceiling of a room by her landlord on Monday night," Sanjay Nagar police inspector Prakash said.
Though no suicide note was found in her house, police registered a case of unnatural death and shifted the body to a state-run hospital for autopsy to ascertain the cause of Bharathi's death.
