Linda Ikeji denies ownership of N500million Mansion as IFRSC slam her with Tax Evasion

Linda has amassed a tax bill of N75 million and is unwilling to pay up. A “source” in the Federal Inland Revenue Service was quoted to have revealed that the celebrity blogger had for some time, been evading tax payment.

According to report by the Capital, Linda has been mandated by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to pay the money into the agency’s coffers. "Christians Are Not Fools" - New CAN President to Buhari’s Government

Dr Samson Ayokunle has said he foresaw his election to lead Christians in Nigeria in 2015. The cleric, who is the newly elected president of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has warned President Muhammadu Buhari, to “maintain balance and keep close to constitution”, irrespective of his religious affiliation to avoid opening the door for lawlessness in the society, also criticised the enlistment of Nigeria into a coalition under the aegis of Organisation of Islamic Countries.

Ayokunle, president of Nigerian Baptist Convention, made the revelation in an interview with journalists immediately after his election last week in Abuja.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have claimed that individuals suspected to be complicit in the N4.7billion arms cash probe have gone into hiding following the freezing of the Ayo Fayose’s account, Governor of Ekiti state.

Detectives from the agency were in Ekiti state on Wednesday to arrest some of the people connected to the investigation of the governor’s account but found nobody as the targets are said to be hiding in the state Government House.

The anti-graft had created a whirlpool of controversy when it placed a restriction on the Zenith bank account of the governor on Monday.

Can you give a brief background of yourself?

My husband gave me a Nigerian (Yoruba) name, ‘Ibukun,’ which means ‘blessing.’ I am originally from Hungary. I live in the United Kingdom at the moment. In 2008, I came to the UK, where I met my husband, Gbenga Afolabi of MagnumN3. I studied Business and Management. I also hold degrees in German and French languages. When I first came to the UK, I could not speak English, so I had to start learning it from the beginning. In 2012, I decided to start ­a blog, the whitenaijagirl.com, soon after I got married. Initially, I wanted to write a book, but my husband advised me to start a blog instead so I could reach more people. I started to write about my experiences as a ‘Nigerian’ wife. Soon, many people — men and women – in relationships with Nigerians started to contact me, asking different questions. The blog became quite successful. Finally, I visited Nigeria in the middle of October last year. I stayed for a month. It was during that period that the video of me selling sachet water was shot.

Former Chief of Army Staff not Arrested – Family Confirms

Reports of the alleged arrest of former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Az­ubuike Ihejirika, which went viral on the social media on Wednesday, have been refuted by his family.

The reports had claimed that Gen. Ihejirika was arrested in his Abuja residence on Tues­day night by operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) over his alleged role in the controversial arms deal saga.

But a member of Ihejirika’s family said last night that the former Army Chief was not arrested as is be­ing speculated in some quarters.

"You Can’t Dictate To Buhari On How To Fight Corruption" – Apc To Pdp Senators

The APC has asked senators of the opposition PDP to face their legislative business and come to terms with the reality that they cannot determine how the Buhari administration fights corruption, this statement was made hours after PDP Senators declared they would no longer support President Muhammadu Buhari because the federal government was trying Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu for forgery.

The APC, via a statement signed by its National Secretary, Mala Buni on Wednesday, said this in response to the PDP Senators’ declaration of suspension of support for the Buhari-led government.

“The attention of the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to a statement credited to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senate Caucus stating that the Caucus has withdrawn its support for the government of President Muhammadu Buhari over the administration’s hugely successful war against corruption,” the statement said.

AMCON to take over Ben Murray-Bruce’s companies, assets (SEE REASONS)

The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) will on Thursday morning take over the assets of three companies belonging to politician Ben Murray-Bruce and his brothers.

According to reports, the assets are being seized following the failure of Senator Murray-Bruce and his brothers to settle an N11 billion loan owed Union Bank and acquired by AMCON.

AMCON was established on July 9, 2010, as a key stabilizing and revitalizing tool for stabilising the nation’s financial system.

Its enabling law empowers it to acquire non-performing loan assets of Nigerian banks at fair values and then put them to economic use in a profitable manner.

"Warning Strike by Health Workers’ is Illegal" - Minister

The warning strike called by the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) yesterday has been described as illegal by the Federal Government.

The health workers commenced a seven-day warning strike at the expiration of the 14 days ultimatum given to the Federal Government to meet its demands, which issuance of the implementation of circular on salary adjustment done for the medical doctors and implementation of all agreements of May 10, 2012, by past administration and issuance of circular for the implementation of specialist allowance for members in line with the 2009 agreement.

The communique announcing the warning strike was issued after JOHESU’s meeting with the Federal Government.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is set to invite Feyisetan Fayose, the wife of Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, for allegedly receiving N100m through an account operated by her and her husband.

Abiodun Agbele, an associate of the governor paid the money paid into the account of Spotless Investment Limited on June 17, 2014 with bank teller number 0540997.

Federal Accounts Allocation Committee distributes N305.1bn to FG, States, LGs

The Federal Accounts Allocation Committee on Wednesday night distributed a total sum of N305.12bn to the three tiers of government as statutory allocation for the month of May.

The FAAC meeting, which was earlier scheduled to hold on Tuesday, could not be convened because of the protest by workers of the Ministry of Finance, which was suspended on Wednesday.

A communique issued at the end of the meeting, which was read by the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, stated that the amount allocated in May was higher than the N281.5bn shared in April.

Eagles will no longer receive bonus in dollars for any home games

Nigeria Football Federation is now working on paying Football players in the Nigerian currency when matches are played in Nigeria as opposed to the payment of dollars for match bonuses whether they play in Nigeria or abroad.

An Africanfootball.com report stated that it was part of the decisions taken by the NFF technical committee at their meeting in Abuja on Tuesday. The committee is also putting forward several far-reaching recommendations including the scrapping of dollar payment to the various national teams and match-by-match bonuses as well as placing assistant coaches on a part-time basis.

On Wednesday, Caitlyn Jenner took to Instagram, sharing a brief eulogy to Charles T. Aaron, who died recently in a motorcycle accident.

#EURO2016: Round of 16 Teams and Fixtures

All group games at the 2016 European Championship were concluded on Wednesday night. Hosts France finished top of Group A and will face Ireland, who finished third in Group E, after a 1-0 win over Italy.

The winner of that Round of 16 game, will take on England or Iceland who play each other on Monday.

Switzerland finished second in Group A and will battle Poland in Saint-Etienne, while Croatia and Portugal will square up against each other on Saturday. The winners of these ties will face each other.
