Moot Grazing Bill Reappears and Passes First Reading


The controversial bill for the establishment of a National Grazing Reserves Agency today reappeared before the Senate and scaled the first reading.

The National Grazing Reserves Agency Bill was sponsored by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, All Progressives Congress, APC, Kano Central and co-sponsored by others.

PHOTOs: Decaying Dead Body of Kidnapped Catholic Priest Found


A priest from the Catholic Diocese of Otukpo, identified as Rev. Father John Adeyi, who was reportedly kidnapped on his way to Otukpo, from his country home, Otukpa, Benue state two months ago, has been found dead in his decaying state.

It was learnt that the corpse of the vicar of the Otukpo Diocese who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen but was never released in spite of the payment of the sum of N2 million as ransom, was discovered in Otukpa on Wednesday morning as his body is already decaying.

Lightning in India leaves more than 50 people dead


Lightning has killed at least 70 people, mostly farm labourers working in fields, in eastern India this week as a much anticipated summer monsoon advances across the country.

An official in the eastern state of Bihar said on Wednesday that at least 56 people had been killed by lightning since Monday. Another 24 were injured by severe thunderstorms and monsoon rains in at least 14 districts of the state.

Late Nigerian Author and Environmental Activist from Ogoniland, Ken Saro-Wiwa has been honored in Amsterdam South East. A street has been named after him. The Activist was executed by hanging during late General Abacha rule in 1995.

India launches second highest satellites in single mission


India has successfully launched a rocket carrying a record 20 satellites, as its space agency looks to grab a larger slice of the lucrative commercial space market.

The rocket carries the highest ever number of satellites on a single Indian mission and the third highest in history.

It blasted off on Wednesday from the southern spaceport of Sriharikota, carrying satellites from the US, Germany, Canada and Indonesia.

Most of the satellites will enter orbit to observe and measure the Earth's atmosphere, while one of them aims to provide service for amateur radio operators.

Mothers have taken to social media to share some very crazy and hilarious images their children drew. 

One of the kids seems to have clear ideas of what her father's super power is. Her mother shared her daughter's hilarious picture of her 'Superhero Daddy' for Father's Day, which featured a long blue cape.

While other naughty drawings can be said to be accidental, one six-year-old boy seemed to know exactly what he was doing when he added a third appendage to a drawing of his dad. One mother posted a model made out of cake mix by her child, which resembled something else entirely.

Official Zenith Bank Letter issued to Ayo Fayose on his accounts restriction

Men who defraud car dealers by issuing fake bank cheques arrested by Lagos Police


Police arrested two men who specialize in defrauding car dealers in Lagos by issuing fake bank cheques and fake bank alerts, Vanguard reports.

The suspects were nabbed on Tuesday, June 21, when one of their victims raised the alarm when he discovered that an alert he got for the payment of the vehicle sold to the suspects was fake.
According to Vanguard, prior to their arrest yesterday, the suspects, who claimed they were sent by their boss, had succeeded twice in issuing fake bank alerts and stealing cars from dealers at car marts.

The victim identified as Ifeanyi became suspicious of the transaction after he allegedly received bank transaction alert for the payment of the vehicle. His suspicion paid off after his assistant, who was sent to the bank to confirm the payment, informed him that the said transaction did not reflect in their bank account.

Resident Doctors Agree To Suspend On Going Strike Action


The leadership of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has agreed to suspend its strike after a meeting with other health sector stakeholders on Tuesday.

The Association’s leadership also appealed to members to suspend the strike until the next meeting scheduled for July 14.

U.S Police apprehend three people with Multiple Loaded Guns, Knives and Body Armor


Three have been people apprehended with multiple loaded guns, knives and ballistic vests at the Holland Tunnel Tuesday. This occurred when police stopped them for driving with a cracked windshield, according to authorities.

According to NBC, the three individuals, two men in their 50s and a woman in her 20s who may be from Pennsylvania, were stopped on the New Jersey side of the tunnel around 8 a.m., authorities said. A search of their vehicle revealed the weapons cache.

GUN CONTROL: Kim Kardashians Blast U.S Senate


Kim Kardashian West took to Twitter to blast the Senate for rejecting several gun control measures in the wake of the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

On Monday, the Senate failed to pass a single piece of legislation pertaining to gun control. One measure would have closed the ‘gun show loophole by extending the background check requirement to people looking to buy firearms at shows and on the internet.

Another measure would have blocked the sale of guns to people on a terrorist watch list for 72 hours while the government tries to prove, via the court system, that the person is a terrorist threat.

All three Gladys Knight’s Chicken and Waffle restaurants just got shut down by the Georgia Department of Revenue.

Gladys Knight’s son, who runs the operation, is at the center of an investigation involving $1 million.

Agents removed computers, files, and the contents from safes within each establishment.
A rep for Gladys says that she “lent her name to her son’s restaurants in the Atlanta area, similar to a celebrity endorsement. Ms. Knight was not involved in any way with the operation of the restaurants and she is sure that her son and his business partners will rectify the situation.”

Nigerian Army Arrests Niger Delta Ex-Militant ... Breach of Amnesty agreement?


A former Niger Delta militant leader, Aboy Francis Muturu, also known as General Aboy, has been arrested by Nigerian soldiers from the 4th Brigade in Benin City, capital of Edo State.

According to reports, Mr. Muturu was arrested in the presence of his wife in the early hours of Friday, June 17, 2016, at his residence in Bomadi Town of Delta state. He was among the militants who accepted late President Musa Yar’Adua’s amnesty programme.

Beauty Aboy Muturu, wife of General Aboy, confirmed the arrest to journalists.

Since his arrest, the former militant leader has been held in an unknown destination and keep incommunicado from his lawyers and from his family.

Omes Ogedegbe, a Warri-based lawyer and counsel to General Aboy has threatened threatened legal action against the Nigerian Army.

Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, (retd), has promised to continue to advise both the federal and state governments where necessary to move the country forward.
“I am ready and willing to continuously offer beneficial advice to the federal and state governments,” Babangida said in Minna, yesterday when he received the Chairman and members of the Niger State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by state chairman of PDP, Tanko Beji.
“I am committed to the Project Nigeria because I have no other country that I can call my own,” he said.
